i was waiting for the halving or better said the halving effect that could happen at any time before or after the event.
but now i am mostly waiting for the block size debate to be solved. that will have the bigger effect.

Apparently we have exactly 14 weeks and 1 day till halving hits us. I just hope this event won't mess bitcoin economy too much.

we were eagerly waiting for the forthcoming halving which is going to be happen this June.. sure there is halving, but it won't make such a huge impact on the price while compared with.the previous one.

In Bitcoin community literally everybody waiting for Bitcoin halving. What world do you live in? Can't you see the excitement since last year? It's the second halving but I think it gives more impact than the first one.
25 > 12.5 has bigger impact than 50 > 25.

There are a lot of people that is waiting for a halving, but the bad thing is that it will not even rise after the halving and that will be not good for those who already have Bitcoin.
Many people hope of course that it will rise, but you are not for sure that it can happen.

I think he meant the rise so far from $200 to $420 was because of the halving effect. which may be partly true but not completely.
I believe a lot of bitcoin users have been buying bitcoin from last year because of the halving so that is part of the rise but it is important to remember that it is not all of it.
and also I think we are yet to see the real effect of halving which will come soon and the price rise will be obvious not like the previous rises small and slow.

Dude don't worry price will increase as you expect. Because its more stable than anything after halving. Due to halving only we people are use to buy the bitcoins and they are holding it...

This is the best way to be, there's no point checking the price constantly & desperately hoping bitcoin will make you rich because it just leads to disappointment.

I find the best thing to do is forget about bitcoin as a means to a better life. HODL a decent stash, maybe some day you'll get a nice surprise, maybe not but don't pin your hopes & happiness on it.

I have ambivalent feelings. On one hand I'm waiting for it, as it will stirr up the market and it will be great fun, on the other hand I believe it will cause further centralization in mining.

After block halving we will experience slow movement of bitcoin and i think we dont need to worry about the price increases and price decreases.

I am definitely waiting for the halving like many are here. They are holding the coins that they have because it is known that it will rise the price to an astounding rate that will make people weep that have not bought before then.

It's priced-in already, 200-->400 is correct. December'2016 will see a bubble to 800, will crash down to 400 in January'2017.

I am interested in price increases. Whether it comes from the block halving, or from legit growth, it doesn't really matter at this point. My trading income has more priority at the moment.

There are a lot of people that is waiting for a halving, and they hope that the price will jump after the halving so they can get some a lot of profit with it and that can be very nice for them.
But I heard from some people that the value will not rise after the halving and that they must wait a very long time.

Everyone is hoping that it will halve. Especially the people that want to buy some coins. People aren't that active on Bitcoin right now because of the price but the halving can change that.

i am in fact holding my bitcoin for a price rise that i believe will happen around the halving time so that i can sell high then buy back again low even more bitcoin.

bitcoin has been seeing its userbase grow year on year. it will grow this year as well, but i can't really see it having much impact on the price. we need more wealthy investors to join bitcoin. that's when you can really expect the price to grow significantly. some people also think that the more merchants accept bitcoin, the higher the price will be. this is not the case. merchants don't have any positive impact on the price. fresh money flowing into bitcoin is the only real thing that can make bitcoin grow further.

You should believe that price will increase after the halving.. thinking about the supply of fresh coins being cut in half.. Basically it can't meet the normal demand so the tendency is for the price to increase..

I have bough some bitcoins as I think the price will rise in the medium term, in 6-18 months. I will use some when the price is over $1400.

It will also be my first block halving experience, but I don't have very high expectations from the price that may go up due to the block rewards being halved. If the price goes up a lot, then it's fine for me. But if the price doesn't go up much, then I will not be disappointed because I don't have high expectations.

it is not just because of the rewards that is being decreased, i mean that is obviously pretty important since it has a significant effect on miners income. but a big part of the future possible rise is because of the hype and speculation that comes with it, and we all know nothing is more powerful that this.

If people will sell or not is a question of how much the price will rise.

Well, anyone can find out when the halving will come, it isn't information specific to this forum. Certainly a lot of people are holding for the halving, and I'm curious if even some businesses are holding and seeing if it goes up.

That wont happen that the price of bitcoin will decrease after the halving if that happen then the whales are manipulating the price and they are getting ready for a big pump to happen.

Most users waiting with the hope of a high profit by the time after halving is holding from the end of last year to experience the highest price of the year. Anything might happen, only time gives the result.

I think 80% of the users of bitcoin is now getting a hold of more bitcoin now and just is waiting for the halving to come to sell all the coins they have gather so far and make money.

The price has already increased from $410-$435 today and I feel by July we could reach above $500 atleast which will bring in more traders. I don't trade regularly these days and hence am holding my coins till July when I will sell them for the rate then. Still 12 weeks are left for halving.

Not all believe in trading as holding can earn them more. Trading fee also counts and halving can surely be profitable for  bitcoiners looking at the current rise in BTC. You're right as bitcoins can be expensive later but that's why I believe in buying as many bitcoins as possible now and wait till July to sell them.

Yeah its good to bet bitcoin now so that when we are on the halving all we need to do is to wait for a good price then that is sure profit to all of us.

Im waiting for the halving effect that's why as much as possible Im monitoring the bitcoin price everyday to make at least a good ride for the train that will passed by.

It's really a good thing to take advantage of the price dip today because if all speculations will become true, the price will only surge upwards meaning only lesser dip will happen so we have no choice but to buy for an unusual price.

the price wen't down around $12 just now, but i don't think there is much difference for people that will hold their coins for the long term. for these people the price being $10-$20 higher or lower will not affect their long term profits at all. but that's completely different for day traders. for them these price swings are more than welcome.

And that margin of dips really help those freakish buyers to make and plan for their another move.

It's really good that price still dips today because I think if the halving will established it's "real effect" we can't see such range of price today in the future.

I agree with that. The halving could increase the price, but it is not fundamental. The mass adoption matters most.

Halving is expected to take place later this year and miners are already complaining that btc minning is not as profitable as it used to be.

Now with the halving, profits might drop even further for miners, more miners might stop minning, there will be less btc in circulation.


Ultimately btc prices will shoot up. Not a good time to buy btc then.

Some believe the upcoming block halving will make the price go up significantly from the current price and some think the halving is already in the current price. Only time will tell what will happen. I personally think we'll have $150 to gain at most from the price today.

I've been anticipating the July'2016 halving for 6 months at least now. I believe it will NOT have a major impact on the price, we will see 600-800 at most, but it will go right back down to 400-500. The real action will be at the end of the year, we will definitely see 800 in Nov/Dec'2016.

I don't think people will get panic this time and will repeat the same mistake that they did in past, people will hold their coins and will sell when the right time comes.

Before the halving, the price could be around $600. 6 months after the halving, due to the block size increase, the price could be $1200.

If you want to rich in future then you should try your best to collect as much coins possible at a moment, as whatever hard work you do now will be paid off in future in the best possible way.

The block halving may very well be nearly calculated in the current price and yet people are dreaming about unrealistic prices to happen this year. I don't see much upwards potential from $550 to be honest.

I am afraid that this reveals another issue: there is not much to talk on the development side, there is no agreement on the block size (just the endless talks) and all the public has is the hope that the halving will be huge. It won't, as it is all thin air, with no real fundamentals to attract the new money.

I`m sure if it comes down to it, the VC`s who run over million dollars in investment into bitcoin ventures and the ones who create the community will find people to do it.

If it really came down to it, since no one would want to see this fail over developers endless talks with increase of 1mb.

as you say, people are waiting for the block halving to happen, which means that even when the price does go up, that the price will get dumped down heavily. that's why it's much better to cash out before the block halving as you then have the chance to cash out at a great price level. and if you so wish you can buy back at lower prices to increase your coin count.

Very rightly said, everyone has certain price limit in their minds, if it crosses it then you should sell your coins as you never know price might fall to extreme level very next day.

For what exactly, if the price goes up significantly most people will sell a portion of their bitcoin's but to sell all of them would be stupid imo.

That is true, but we can't say that halving is not big event, it will be block halving, but it depend on us how we use it and how we get make a profit from halving, we should use our planning.
Finally, Bitcoin is not depend on Halving, actually Halving is depending on Bitcoins. when halving will be finished, bitcoin will remain and always remain in future. so use it in the different investment and make the profit.

it is only big because it is the second time that it is happening, after a couple more halvings it will become normal and people won't hype it this much. halving is just a way of moving forward with the bitcoin ecosystem. the price rise and all that supply demand talk is just speculation.

Next block halvings will not have much effect anymore as all coins are nearly minted already.

Once current block halving has taken place, till next block halving blocks to mint : 210,00 x 12.5BTC = 2,625,000BTC

Which means that there will be 18,374,975BTC in circulation.

I am waiting for the halving to happen because I am curious on what is going to happen when the halving comes in to play. I hope that the price is going down so that I can buy some more coins for a less expensive price. 

As the count down has been initiated by most of the exchanges and news articles every user here is in much expectation of the halving. So lets just wait and experience the halving hike.

It will be really interesting to see what halving offers us as majority of people have high expectations from halving but lets hope that everything goes fine at halving.

I really want to see what halving will bring. At first I heard of halving that will make the price increase, I really became excited. But after months I realized that this will not be easy since all in all it's all in traders move to make the price increase. And also lots of massive dumpers are easily magnetized when the price hits at certain "high price" and dips to about $10. I just have to wait and see what will be the output.

There are a lot of people that is still waiting for a price increase and that is logic because it was stable for a long time and that is bad for the most people with Bitcoin.
The most are hoping that the value will rise soon so they can also earn profit in a fast time.

Price is not stable. Trades earned small profits when the price hits the roller coaster status many times this month and in previous months. Bitcoin will not reached it's stable price because traders are active and there are whales that really holds lots of coins.

I'm waiting on the halving like everyone is because the fact is that the bitcoin is gonna rise for sure these days without any doubts.
I think the halving will help us for sure.

Yes, that's a good idea, you know i was so much worried and i was thinking when halving will be finished and than bitcoin price will come down and in that time what we can do, so thats really good idea to buy the bitcoins again.

Yeah everyone is excited to see that what will be the price of bitcoin at the time of halving, and it would be really disappointing if price doesn't goes higher.

That is exactly my point, too. By the time of this halving, 75% of all coins will be already mined. That means that the already mined coins can be used to push the price down to literally any level, if there is such a desire. By the time of the following halving 87.5% of all coins will be mined, making the halving effect even less significant.

But hoping that price exceeds beyond expectations as a result of halving.

Do not expect too high from halving as anything is possible, price might to higher or even it can fall down, so keep your fingers crossed as halving will only show the real picture.

The price now at $450 is very cheap. It is much lower than the price after halving. During halving, the price could be $500.

Halving will definitely increase the price "above the current price rate today". It's a must and will happen because miners needs some compensation because of drop rewards so it willl happen. For how much the price? Well everyone doesn't know.

Yes price will be better at the time of halving then current price, but no one knows what will be the exact price at the time of halving, but lets hope it brings good news for us.

Just don't let some bad news spoiled the halving result. One move by a whales can bring the price dip but of course there are still large people that can purchase more to bring the price up. Months remaining before the halving ETA. We have to watch it closely.

If I have a million to give you in exchange for bitcoin, what are you arguments to convince me to do so? And no it cannot be the halving event itself, the event itself is not worth 1m to me. Also no it also cannot just be because it is going to be a valuable rare commodity somewhere in the future. For it to be the latter, something else needs to happen. What will that be, what do you believe?

Or if you don't know that, then tell me what do you think will be required for this halving event to explode the price. Who are the ones that will bring the money and how much of it will be needed?


 

The most people with Bitcoin are of course waiting for a halving and that is because they want to make profit with Bitcoin and that is also their main reason why they bought it.
But the chance is high that they have to wait a longer time until it will be more worth because it was already stable for a long time.

It is right, people are waiting for halving, because halving is the easiest way to get your bitcoins double, i also hope about my bitcoins, but only when we will get profit when we use it right time. actually i m excited to use the halving because it is first time when i will be use it.

Yeah even this is the first halving for me and I am really very excited to see what will be the price at halving, and everyone is hoping for the best price this time.

I have very long waited halving happen, but I always use bitcoin I keep, but I sometimes use it with a little. halving will definitely make bitcoin prices to be high.

I know all member of this forum are exciting for block halving to be done because they are exciting to see that the price is increasingly fast.. to sell their all bitcoin to make a profit.. honestly if you sell your bitcoin we will see that the price will slow down or slow increase if more people are selling bitcoins..

I`m very curious about upcoming halving. It will be nice opportunity to see all that with my eye`s, cause last time when halving was I didn't even heard about bitcoin. I`m not big trader, and mostly when I trade I do it with alt coins, they are much cheaper so I don't wait halving to earn something from it.
I have a wish bitcoin price to go up, and I believe there is nice conditions for that. But more I`m interested in what we can expect in months after halving. I see sparks here and there in comments, price is down for 20 $ today and we already see some conspiracy theories in threads on this forum.
I`m trying to be objective and to see truth in all argues I read around internet but its really hard. Guess we need to wait and see, I didn't see any prediction that have more then 20 % to be accurate. Its very interesting for me to be part of all this, and I think in the end everything will be just fine.

yes I know the rumors, so many people say it in this forum. then I find out that halving previously had no effect on prices. but I will still try to hold and wait for halving.

Still got like 50 something more days here.. and you might see the price come gradually instead of 1 day price surge.

Which is something that some people dont understand, and if its slow it can cause people to jump and dabble eth making it less of a price surge.

yes i am waiting for bitcoin halving as this is probably most interesting bitcoin event this year, and other halving will happen only in after 4 years so i really wait for it

and others wait for halving too as price rises these days so i am pretty sure that price should be very large after halving, so it is another reason why i and others wait for halving

halving will affect the price of bitcoin but we will never know whether the effect is good or bad, I mean the price will go up or down.

well the price during the halving will surely go up because people will think that the price of the bitcoin will go op so people will buy as much bitcoins as possible in order to make money

hopefully my predictions are correct and it will allow me to make some good money that i will be able to use it for my personal needs such as buying some electronics gadgets

There is no assurance that we will see higher price at the time of halving as its impossible to predict the price at time of halving but lets hope for the best.

So better make some bags of bitcoins to take advantage of every possibility.

Besides even halving won't bring others expected and desired price, they still have those saved coins and there's no instant downfall so still benefits are been there.

The most people with Bitcoin are indeed waiting for a halving and that is nice because they all wanted to make some profit with it but it wont be that easy to make that.
But the bad thing is that you can wait a long time until it will be more worth.

I never wait for the halving because tyou will never now when it's coming. So dont wait to long and spent some coins mean while. if you wait to long it will not have any profit on your coins. just holding them is not the best way to get  a price increasing.
