Localbitcoins would be the best if you have a little funds to spare to pay the premium. A cheaper one would be CoinJar, which I use regularly.

There is also a Currency Exchange area in this forum, find a very reputable member there with great green trust, use even an escrow and I think you can be safe by doing so in here, if you want an website then Localbitcoins is good like anybody has already told you so far.

Exchange in what? Fiat money or alternative crypto coins?

If first holds, it is depending from country you come. When you come from Europe then I would use Bitcoin.de, AnycoinDirect.eu or Coinimail.com. All are registered and trusted sites. Kraken.com is also an option.
If you come outsite Europe and the States then I would use LocalBitcoins.

If you want to exchange BTC to altcoin then use Poloniex or Bittrex.

if by exchange you mean sell and take the fiat then the good options is localbitcoins.com which you can find local people accepting bitcoin in exchange for local currency. just check their reputation first.

if by exchange you mean trade, then there are a lot of options.
for trading/exchanging with fiat good options are kraken, bitfinex
for trading/exchanging with altcoins good options are poloniex, bittrex

check out coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/ for a list of all of them with coins they have listed.

As you are new here without any past trading reputation here. I will suggest you to use localbitcoins.com or if you are willing to use escrow than you can post your trade offer in currency exchange board of this forum.

Why even localbitcoins.com site is also working on escrow service only , it is very safe and the price is very good with less discount on buying and selling when comparing with other exchanges. Localbitcoins site have all types of payment system like , transfer to bank, paypal , paytm and usd , euro . So you can think how many way of getting or paying ways are their.

Ofcourse there's reputable exchanges, but if you just have small amounts that you want to exchange, maybe it would be much less hassle by
using some of the traders in our currency exchange subsection https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0
Check out known and trusted trade threads there, is my advice. You can set up a real exchange account when you have big amount of coins to exchange.
