Title: Altcoins with plaintext transaction messaging
Post by: Inquisitive Inquisition on April 06, 2016, 07:58:07 AM
Hi All,

We are starting a project which requires the use of a crypto currency with plaintext transaction messaging embedded into the blockchain. When coins are sent a message could be sent with it and would show up on the blockchain. Please share any coins that have this feature.

How is this different from plain text which can be embedded in Bitcoin's blockchain as well?
That is one reason supposedly for the blockchain bloat.

you can type it in the client field ... aka ... very easy to do
only geeks can handle embedding text in the BTC chain
and it costs 10000satos ;)

Requirement is to be able to embed plaintext into a blockchain when sending coins using the native client. There are sites and tools that allow you to do this with Bitcoin but this is not straight forward and introduces dreaded blockchain bloat. We'd rather use a coin that has included this feature into its native design and has therefore accepted the repurcussions good and bad.

It might be sensible to make our own private coin, it will provide a service to a website. Problem with OpenSourceCoin or Florincoin that have TX messages is that they do not have proper commit history, OpenSourceCoin is a dump of ported source and Florincoin makes all its port code in one commit. Rather than port either of these coins we would want to port Bitcoin and add TX message code to it.

Anyone know a TX message coin that has a proper commit history?

Hi, I could add this feature to my project later on, but it will be a sidechain most probably. dont want to bloat the main chain with chatter. but i have plaintext public keys if that's enough :D
