Good work, I love that you actually take the time to test your code and make something original.

Thanks! I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and I have a hard time sleeping if my negligence might put people's money at risk. I hope this app provides lots of ethers to a lot of people, all while having fun and some healthy competition.

Here's what my contracts tab looked like after I finished testing (I even had to submit the final version 5 times because I couldn't get it verified):

Nicely done!  Thanks for being the kind of coder to thoroughly test their code.

This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun  :D

That was a crazy run, I'm going to go get some sleep now. I hope you guys didn't scare potential newcomers off with your crazy investments... we're here for the long term, so take it easy! :)
Tomorrow I'll focus on promoting the app; I even forgot to have dinner with all the excitement. Feel free to chase some carrots meanwhile.
Good night everyone!

Wow, this is just getting started and looks great.  The extremely low fees and fast payouts are really engineered well for both longevity and speed.

Good work, again  :D

So far 627.36 Ether has been paid out in the first few hours!

Up to this point most of the deposits have been for the maximum amount of 5 Ether, but what remains in the queue is a mix of smaller deposits which should go by more quickly.

It looks like with the low maximum deposit and low fees there are no paywalls developing, so this should run smoothly.

But not as promising and rewarding as your previous app : THE GREED PIT, can make up to 30 ethers per play !

This looks indeed like an very interesting concept ! Gratz !

I don't have mist right now so I can't check it but the multiplier is 1.2 and the fee is ? If it is too high, only the high ranked will get a significant payout right ?

The fee is 5% so it is nice
And everyone can profit !

The second rush today will be astonishing, it is exciting !

I like this idea, quite fresh!

Also please try mine - here you can not only double your ETH but also get a jackpot if you are the last person to deposit.

This game is simple to play. And yet it is different than most games here, because it gives you additional incentives.

Usually the last person who invests loses.
But in this game the last person to invest actually wins jackpot, that was collected from game's fees.
This way everyone is rewarded.

Also, this game will never stop.

https://i.imgur.com/UWFqAVF.jpg

Rules explained

1.
You can play with any amount between 0.5 and 25 ETH.

2.
You enter the game by sending your ETH to the contract address:
0xb5aff01f3e820735fac9abb594dc9993cb9e5bd2

The contract code is tested, verified and opened to the public.
You can see it here: http://[Suspicious link removed]/iUEuaL
This is to prove that the game is fair.

3.
You get 200% of your investment to the same account from which you sent.

4.
5% is collected to the Jackpot. During the game there might be significant amount of money in the jackpot.

5.
Who gets the jackpot? If noone contributed to the game for the last 6 hours, the jackpot is split between the last three players.
The last player gets 70%, the one before him gets 20%, and the third one 10% of the jackpot.

6.
When noone contributes for the 6 hours the game ends. The new game starts. Player, who is the first to play in the new game, will be getting 3% of all transactions till the game ends again.

So this game not only doubles your investment but also rewards you with a jackpot if you are one of the last players to play!
The fee is only 3%.

And what is most important - in this game you will not be afraid to be the last one to invest, because the last one wins the most!

Good luck!

The "new" game posted by SmokeJoe appears to be a scam ? you could run away with all of it
Please keep this out of the ETHStick thread, it is confusing

Quote
   function restart() {
        if (msg.sender == mainPlayer) {
            mainPlayer.send(address(this).balance);
            selfdestruct(mainPlayer);
        }

Still very dangerous to put money in something where the owner (which carefully change the name of the variable to "mainPlayer" > smart move) could stop at any time and run away...
I'm  sorry for the ones who already put money in it and won't get it back when the owner decides so

Better be safe and play the established ones like ethstick, greedpit, diana, rubixi, littlecactus, etc.

I guess there is nothing to worry, the castle game that it seems to be based on has been running for some time already, without any problems. I guess there is room for different types of games here, so no need to undermineeach other. Anyway, I am investing in most of them.

Post by: SmokeJoe on April 07, 2016, 10:43:30 AM
I can confirmed it is based on that one. I updated couple of stats only and didn't change anything in the code except of those and the variables. The original one was pretty successful and actually is still running but the dev stopped promoting it. My aim is different one and I hope we will manage to be even more popular. They've had over 600 transactions! As you can see, I am promoting that one heavily.

Given the serious threat that kill function imposes, I could only warn players/investors not to play on that one and stick with the proven one:
GreedPit, ETHstick, LittleCactus, Diana and so on. Those are proven not be scam and were validated by the community...

... unlike most of the others who were promoted by a bunch of disrepectful scammers using various aliases on this board

Well, I guess everyone promotes their own projects or the ones they have invested in. I invested in many of them, so have no problem with that as long as people are not FUDing each other. Anyway, since I am in almost all of them it's all good, keep the good working promoting them.

Yeah, don't worry, I'm gonna continue to work to make the pit more successful, but today Ethstick will be the main focus.

Gonna start the promotion in an hour or so, I got a bit distracted. Last chance to get in early!

Oh, so the crazy volume was you! Thanks, and welcome. I'm sure you made many people happy, hehe.

As for game ideas, I'm surely open to hearing them, but right now I'm a bit busy with promoting this and doing some website stuff; I don't think I'll be able to release any other app for a while. I want to focus on the ones I already have, and I'm sure my users will prefer if I do that, too.

If we all keep reinvesting part of our earnings this will keep going on for a long time!

PS: Next greed pit payout in 3 ethers. Ethstick payouts always <=6 ethers away  8)

Friendly reminder: payouts are always a maximum of 6 ethers away, so if you deposit and wait a few days there's a high chance you'll get a 20% return; much better than most investments. It tends to be faster on the weekends so it's a good time to get in!

The website might attract more people too, I hope to have it ready soon.

In spite of the exhaustive testing, it seems a bug slipped through. The last position of the ranking doesn't show the right value, it seems to show the most recent deposit. I've increased the ranking size to 16, and I'll make sure the website only shows 1-15, which should all be correct values.

That being said, the new slots (10-15 in the wallet interface) will be empty until new deposits are made  (it doesn't check for existing deposits). If you already deposited, depositing more will update with the right value. This doesn't affect the game logic in any way, it's just a display issue, so don't worry.  :)

Edit: In other news, the greed pit is having a promotional fee for the weekend.

If you want to join in the fun but are confused about how to send ETH to join in, here is a pictorial guide through the process of sending ETH to a contract using MyEtherWallet:

The address for the Carrot on a [ETH]STICK] contract is: 0xbA6284cA128d72B25f1353FadD06Aa145D9095Af

Greetings! If you're using the Mist wallet you can "Watch Contract" from the contracts tab by providing the address and JSON interface provided in the first page of the thread. That'll let you see the current stats of the game (who invested, how much and if they've already been paid).

I'm making a website for the app, so you'll be able to see those stats there soon without so much hassle.

So far deposits totaling 591.514 Ether plus corresponding bonuses have been paid out.

Anyone who enters the queue now will be in line behind 159.44 Ether in deposits waiting to be paid out.

Given the reasonable multiplier and extremely low fees, this is still at a sweet early spot in this games potential  :D

Not that I'm aware of at the moment.  I'm keeping extensive notepads full of indexes and deposit values and tallying them up with a calculator.

For Rubixi I modified WealthRedistributionExperiment's ZeroP viewer, these are the results:
http://rubixi.comlu.com/ (http://rubixi.comlu.com/)

I'm sure the same could be done for [ETH]STICK.  In fact, this contract exposes a lot more information, so an even more detailed tracker could be built.

I'm not jumping on the project because I believe Katatsuki is already working on some kind of web interface for [ETH]STICK.

The website should be ready tomorrow; it's a shame I couldn't finish it in time for the weekend. Anyway, the community seems to be sleeping... hopefully that'll change if we can get listed on the dapp directory once we have the site.

Ether price has been dropping a lot, so the cost of joining is quite low now, while the potential rewards are great ;)

Thanks, that was the goal, to have a contract that doesn't take itself seriously, while being actually better than others 8)

The website isn't finished yet, having a hard time putting everything together (the coding is already sorted out for the most part, it's design I'm struggling with). I guess it should be ready in 12~24h. I don't like to release half-assed stuff. Stay tuned!

This is a very interesting ETH Ponzi game. I have found it myself useful, especially the payout multiplier which makes payouts faster due to the fact that the lower the value the faster the ETH payment goes to your wallet. I will give this a try and if I achieve good results, I will gladly share my experiences here.  :)

I see a new 800 finney transaction so I guess you figured it out. Where were you trying to send them from?

Yes I have finally figured it out. Turns out that I wasn't specifying the required amount of gas for the contract to execute. I was trying to send the ETH from Geth. Now I have been able to send the 0.8 ETH (yesterday) I was planning to deposit.  :)

It's always best to use plenty of gas, I believe it only uses the gas necessary, so it's not like you lose money.

Thanks for the advice. Say, how can I see the required amount of gas needed to execute the contract (dapp)? Just asking, because I wouldn't want to send more Gas than the amount required.  :)

The mist wallet makes an estimate, in geth I don't think it's possible. You don't need to worry about that, though. If you send 500k and the contract only needs 300k it refunds the extra amount.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if the transfer fails you'll lose all the gas used. If you're sending money to the contract I think it can only fail because of the lack of gas, or if the block gets discarded by the miner, but if you try to execute a contract function with the wrong value or without the right permission it will also fail, so in those cases it's best to use less gas (they typically don't require much gas anyway). The mist wallet protects you in some of those cases too, not letting you execute the function.

I'm gonna lock this thread and make a new one in the right section, since I can't just delete it... I have no idea why it got moved here in the first place.
