Title: Need help webhosting questions for faucet owners
Post by: JasonXG on April 08, 2016, 07:37:20 PM
Need help with understanding website traffic more.
 ???
1. How much bandwidth does a website use per visitor on a faucet site ?
2. How much bandwidth does a website use per visitor on a gambling site ?

You don't have to be super accurate just an educated guess is enough :)

I can offer you webhosting on my own dedicated servers and the hdd's are all crypted.

But to your question the cheapest webhosting plan will be enough for a simple faucet

Depends on various factors including the layout of your faucet. If your faucet has flash content, each visitor will consume more bandwidth.Keep it simple if you want less bandwidth usage

Yes. The more content you have in a page, the more bandwidth it will use. People is not going to stay at your site (if it is a faucet) for long. So there is no need for Javascript or big images or special effects. Just something simple will do.

For my site (http://bitrevenues.com), a custom script .. the cheapest plan at Namecheap (accept Bitcoin) do the job at just 9.88 USD for this first year. I just switched my host from Namecheap to SteadyTurtle - because my contract expired - and I think that SteadyTurtle cheapest plan will also do the job for a small faucet.

As for gambling site, I do not have the answer since I do not own one. However I would guess that the bandwidth use will be much bigger than a simple faucet.

make sure you choose Best hosting plan for your faucet otherwise you may loose Visitors

Depends on how much time you will set, for example :- 200 sat every 1 min and you may get more than 3000 visitors each hour , about 20-30 claim each second

SteadyTurtle is best option for me becoz they accept bitcoins also and lowest rates

But i will prefer you to select unlimited hosting plan

On start faucets didnt get enough traffic thats why any chepaest plan will be enough for faucets. Any plan near 2$ with specifications like 2gb hard disk and 20 gb bandwith hosting will be fine.

I have a small site. I have about 21000 unique visitors and about 60000 pageviews (thats 3 views per 1 unique visitor). I have about 6 GB transfer each month.

My webhost is OrangeWebsite.

My hosting plan costs €3.40 a month and has 1GB web space and 100 GB monthly traffic. It's more than enough to run a faucet.

Hosted in Iceland, payable in bitcoin. See my signature. :)

Thanks for all the answers and links, I've looked into it and have a host in mind and a .de domain. But now I want to know if anyone has any idea what a gambling site uses ?

You need to find a host that can "grow" with you.

I'd say you'd be more than safe with a 100 Gb transfer the first months. If your site will get really big, you can upgrade your hosting plan.

f you are using a simple faucetbox script you don't need high bandwidth for that. you can easily run a faucet on free webhosting services. like hourbclock, or webh.co.
a gambling site need high bandwidth because gambling site has so much load.
