Title: S-7 HW Error Problems
Post by: bgibso01 on April 09, 2016, 02:25:29 AM
Got an S-7 last week and seemed to work fine for a few days.  Now after a bit it starts getting extreme HW errors.  I can reboot and it will go again for a bit.  Temps are all 53c or less, 3 plat 1200w server psus, no x's on boards.   Any ideas?  I've tried latest firmware and dropping from 700 to 550mh, but still getting way too many errors.

Contact Bitmaintech support it's probably a bad blade or blades.  They will probably have you swap blades, cables, etc before they will give you an rma.

Could you give a screenshot of your status page? Its a bit hard to figure out what the problem may be with just a notion of "Too many errors."

Set your freq. to 600MHz or 400MHz and check if errors are gone. If so, you probably has one board with common defect of PIC chip.
Send it to RMA or make repair by yourself. You can also keep lower freq and continue to has with better efficiency and lower hashrate.

For me too many errors are 0.5% or above...

I had this problem with a couple of S7's.
They are VERY sensitive to input voltage. If your PSU is not delivering at least 11.8V under load you will experience high errors. I had a PSU that crawled down to 11.2 V after the S7 warmed up and got errors around .68%
That's high for an S7. Once I attached a better PSU errors went down to about .0126%
