I've always been interested in what people think when they hear of Serbia. So, what's the first thing that comes to your mind when you think/hear of Serbia?

when we hear of Serbia, the first thing that strikes our mind is that the people there are in lot of pain and trouble because of the on- going war there.
It should be stopped and matters  should be sorted out on the Peace table.

I've never expected that kind of an answer, to be honest.

Wars carried out by ridiculously tall people.

A cartoonist called Joe Sacco who published a comic book about his stay in Serbia, a harrowing read. For some reason the comic form makes his stories very realistic, a lot of seriously fucked up stuff has happened there over the years.

The Battle of Kosovo, which was the first setback for the Turkish plans to establish Eurabia (Vlad III was another one who was instrumental in stopping the Islamization of Europe, although he was not a Serb). If not for the Serbs, the Germans and French would be following the Shakira law and making pilgrimages to Mecca and Madina.

what I think is Serbia is a country with many history stuff there.

anyway why are you interested in the answers of that question?

My roots. That's what come first to my mind. In second, boje pravde, the hymn. In third, the great Orthodox Church.

Kosovo; big girl who was in my class during primary school; Liberland (controversisal self-proclaimed country on croatia-serbis border)

A childhood friend that was really good at the karates and how he got a girl pregnant well in University and dropped out to the horror of his parents.

That's entirely untrue, after the Battle of Kosovo, Serbs became Ottoman vassals and fought against the western world

In Battle of Nicopolis, Serbs fought alongside the Turks, and the win they won fighting for the invader, the occupator

Not only allowed the Ottomans to tighten their control over the Balkans, but they also ended the Christian , 2nd Bulgarian empire!
After Battle of Nicopolis, Ottomans became a threat to Central Europe

So they pretty much contributed to islamization lol

If this didn't happen, perhaps today people in Bosnia would still be Christian, not to say

they also fought for the occupaying Turks in  Battle of Ankara, Battle of Karanovasa, Battle of Rovine, etc.

And their current radical president who said this town ^ is Serbian, and that he'll kill a 100 Muslims for every dead Serb  :)

To be honest I do not have any idea about Serbia or what comes to my mind.  I have watched a documentary before and it is like a happy place.  Pub were placed on the river, a good place to ski.  And people were very warm and fun.

sebria is a muslim state they are in trouble they should be helped. the NU should take a positive step in their favour. they really need help.

Serbia, is in southern Europe, with warm people specially towards foreigners, a rich and beautiful  country and with hospitable welcoming people, some of there tourist destination site was remarkable.

My Wife is Greek so I just think if Serbia as a neighbor and that has a similar religion to Greeks, Orthodoxy. I also think of the old war as well a few years back.

I always end up with a srpski film. Horrible, awful but effective movie with a good point of view to dark porn sector itself!

and what do you think about serbia. my personal view is tha Serbia is a beautiful country having hospitable people. the season remain cold through out the year. i personally want to visit. and enjoy he beauty of the serbia.

I havent been to serbia but ill visit there. Ive a serbian friend who is very smart,friendly,kind and invites me to see the beauty of his country. I dont mind the weather he mentioned a good night life there :D im curious tho

Serbia is an incredible country with adorable people. People were pretty dour and most seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Old story "friends come and go but enemies last forever". The changes made in the push to join the EU seems to have made a significant difference in the way Serbia is viewed by non Serbs.

What I think of it is the history that bind in it. I mostly hear it in movies that associated with wars in England before.

What do i think when I hear about Serbia?
I see a country manipulated by others,especially by russia,a lot of unhappy people who lost their homes,and
not ending war.

Well, maybe WW1. I'd like to visit Serbia to find out. Don't know much about it except history

Yes I agree that it is an incredible country just like any other country here on Earth.  The fact that war runs through it and it seems the word war is always associated by it, it means that it is really a country that have adorable people.  They are being manipulated.  I know a friend from Serbia and she was indeed so pretty.  I like her hair and skin color plus her curves.  You will not see a person that came from a country that full of tears.  They are very generous and loves peace.

Nothing else comes to mind. Slovodan Milosovic, Kosovo. Isn't that related to Servia? I think it happened around May, June 1999.

I havent been to serbia too but all over from news we always heard the war, killings , bombing and etc about that country all of the negative facts is what we hear but we havent see the real beauty of serbia and im pretty sure the serbia has a beautiful places and warm people out there :D

The first thing that comes to mind at the mention of Serbia - the war in Yugoslavia

When i heard that word Serbia the first thing that will come up into my mind is war.
It is very dangerous to live a place without a peace of mind. You always felt of fear and afraid to die with nothing but in terrorist hands.
