Title: Most crypto-currencies values went down in the last 4 days?
Post by: Raja_MBZ on April 09, 2016, 06:38:32 PM
2018 EDIT: Man... those were the good old days. Can I get back in time once again? Hardly got any decision right in crypto in all these years. ::)

I just updated my stats after 4 days in my excel worksheet and was surprised by the loss which I have seen.

*Bitcoin value gone down from $422.36 to $419.19.
*Ethereum value gone down from $11.61 to $9.25.
*Monero value gone down from $1.56 to $1.29.
*Litecoin value gone down from $3.26 to $3.22.
*Dogecoin value gone down from $0.000232 to $0.000210.
*Peercoin value gone down from $0.45 to $0.42.

These are all the crypto-currencies (bitcoin and altcoins) which I hold... ::) In total, have lost almost $50 in last 4 days with these, mainly due to ether.

Why are you blaming ethereum for your losses in the first place?
Sure it has tanked in the last couple of weeks but it is fair enough to blame an alternate on the recess of all the rest, especially bitcoin? It should stand on it's own if it is the top coin, wouldn't you think?

Blaming ethereum because that's the most of altcoin which I have. All others are in less quantity, but I kept ethers in most quantity, of about $200.

Prices go all the time up and down so if I was you i didn't sell now. The next few days the price will probably going up again. Panic selling is not always the best option or the coin has to be dead.

Where did I say that I am going to sell them? Of course I am going to keep them. I have seen much worse situations than the current one, and still kept the coins.

Anyways, let's hope that prices go up sooner.

Well about the altcoins drop i believes its related to bitcoin halving, even when bitcoin is loosing power to keep going up slowly,i believe the moment of the pump at bitcoin hasnt yet ready to make it,soo wait we will hit 500 dollars soon, and sure the others altcoins will drop a bit more maybe.

I remember one week of the pumping happening at eth that almost all the market were green i went sleep ,whales left the eth pumped, and on the next 3 days the most traded coins at poloniex were red, loosing around 30% some of them and others no less then 10% meaning the whales went out, this prices reflects the main interest is around bitcoin ,soo altcoins should loose some value over the next days before the halving, soo may be a good time to get extra altcoins for a#promotion# good price.

You got that right and that's what makes it fun.  OP you're lucky that's all you lost, and be careful because eth may fall even further.

that is how the crypto-currencies market work, someday everything is good an high and the next you see everything is falling down.
sometimes it is just because there is a new competitor in the market that the funds are being redirected to that. so the sells in each market will cause the decrease.

Most of them have been constantly going down the hill for the last almost 5-7 days.

Ethereum now further down $8.76.
Monero now further down to $1.05.

4 days is very small period to predict changes, crypto-currencies markets moves up and down, as fiat currency do. Look some weeks ago, these coins were going up, its normal that traders sell and earn something.

well the changes are not so drastic in some cases so they are not very important at all. and they don't necessarily have the same reason and/or connected to each other's changes.

for example changes in bitcoin price is because of the sudden rise and it came back to 419 and now it is back up to 420, that is the normal change in the price nothing to worry about.

the ethereum is obvious, there has been a dump going on but the dumpers are wise and are slowly unloading their bags. down to $8.38 as I write this.

monero, litecoin, doge and peer has changes so small that are not even visible :)

what I don't personally get is the ripple fall which is 4.6%

Bitcoin is pretty stable for many weeks now.
And the alts who started to get pumped with end of january and beginning of april are getting dumped now.
This is nothing special as we have seen this several times before.Typical pump and dump.

the biggest one is the ethereum dump, it has gone down to $8 (0.019BTC) and the two other altcoins that i saw rising with ETH is also going down the maidsafe which is down 24% to $0.05 and the one is factom 21% down to $0.09
and they are all showing the end of the big 2016 hype that led to their increase in the first place.

but I still believe that eth will pump back just like bitcoin price will fluctuate from time to time.

They´ve been piling on to the LISK tokens and perhaps some other momentum play and probably selling some other coins for funds. The demand will come back in due course I´m sure.

When one goes down the other alts were pushed to go high and get the attention. This time most coins have experienced a decrease which might be a combined testing of the market.

I am still unsure if I should just sell off of my ethers or not... So in your opinion, I should just go ahead and sell off of my all ethers?

Man, I am now really starting to think to sell off all my altcoins and just keep bitcoins.

I've sold mine weeks ago to which i believe the price were the peak and just like lisk, the price may still remain in the future. i may not go beyond $10.

I see some progress today for all altcoins , they start to increase .
it is original case if they falls down or increased because that depends on their trading state .

Yes, I also think that those who have ethereum will get benefit in the future, but I think it will not happen sooner , it will take some long time maybe 5 to 10 years to reach the value same as bitcoin.

Ethereum jumped too much too fast. So the fact it's falling it's not that odd/uncommon.
The fact that most/all coins went down was explained by some that it's the tax period in USA, this would mean that things should get back to normal in max 2-3 weeks.

Also, lower price means ... easier to buy more  ;D

Mostly because the prices of these top currencies are somewhat correlated to the price of Bitcoins, that's just one reason and not necessarily that it's the only reason...
These have many factors to be taken into consideration as volume, spikes, the reasons for price jumps, etc...
Others have not much effect, but talking about ethereum, the previous person has already said the answer that the price went too much too fast for almost nothing...

Bitcoin's drop is largely insignificant.
There has been substantial downward movement in other alts. Except a few illiquid alts which have been pumped up, most others have gone down. The big surprise is that Ethereum has been taken down along with them.

That graph looks like a pump and dump.

It goes up and then a gradual decline? I dont think there is a price recovery unless theres something that you know it`ll produce more buy orders.

Yes, no one has to sell their Ethereum, as it is only a short downfall in the price of it, and sooner the price will come bace and will increase to much height as a number of companies has started to adopt and support Ethereum.

Recall the investing mantra (yes it applies here), "buy low, sell high"

This should be a buying opportunity as long as it's not expected to go lower.

Not every potential problem turns into a real problem. It is open to attacks that can manufacture DAO tokens. Hard fork success or failure is not really a time dependent ..

The hard fork is a success for the Ethereum. There are two versions of Ethereum  now. You can support the one you like.

All the other altcoins are dependent upon Bitcoin. They are like parasites who survive by leaching the host. Here the host is Bitcoin, and when the Bitcoin exchange rates rise, the same will rise for the other altcoins like Ripple and Ether.

Thats why bitcoin is the king of crypto currencies, even when the most believe eth has a lot potencial to get bigger, it has just bitcoin at the head to cross against, its easy to understand if bitcoin up all currencies down, last week the altcoins were searching their new value, and they will find and readjust each altcoin value.

For some altcoins, they might rise faster than the bitcoin if there are strong community support. For example, the Ethereum rises faster than the bitcoin.

All of cryptocurrency have down last four days, it have the effect where the bitcoin touch the down price and all altcoin will be the same price with the bitcoin and down. Its the something usually happen in the bitcoin and cryptocurrency, where the bitcoin on the low price, all of altcoin will be the same situation and at the low price, but when the bitcoin on the high price all altcoin will be up and touch the high price,

Last 4 days how much i lost i am not calculated because since last 1 and half months I am not selling my coins but I am buying altcoins. since last 2 months, i almost lost $2k plus money in Dogecoin, ADA, NEM, BTG. except for Bitcoin, ETH, NEO, Waves, and LTC.

I think the normal decline always comes up again and do not worry too much so it can pose a danger and you are always obsessed to go back a few days ago to fix the mistakes that have been made and will be a good evaluation.

Well there has been a lot of bad news as of late, it would be hard for the industry to be in a bull run as of now. However, I wouldn't worry if you compare those to last year prices at this time, we are up a significant amount. That alone should make you feel comfortable, if not the World Economic forum predicts crypto will be worth more than 10 trillion in less than 10 years.

The fluctuation is more in monero and dogecoin isn't it? I heard so that they crushed much
The crashed of all crypto currencies were just behaving in nature. Because all crypto currency is volatile, this is both an advantage and a disadvantage in investing crypto. While its low, like what happen now a days investors have the chance to buy it and wait until it will rise again. The other way is the chance for the investors to sell it so that they can gain more profit.

I don't think so because the time traveller machine not yet found. ::)

So the investors understand what is the capability of long twrm hold from this thread.

I didn't expect such a sharp fall in only 4 days. does that means people are losing faith on them?

And sometimes its really funny to see old threads and look at their prices and compare it by the current price. Yeah good old days and who would have thought that almost of all the coins mentioned as experience growth. A exponential growth that make a lot of investors crypto millionaires already.

Lol about the time machine. If its already invented then we shall all go back in time and invest as much money as we could and then go back to the present time to see how it goes. Hahahahha.

In two years, it is very likely that the topics about today's drawdown of crypto coins will evoke the same emotions ;D. Even the Dogecoin grew more than 10 number of times, despite their large generation.

4 days is a very long duration for turning the tables in the world of digital currencies. The changes here are so unexpected that no one can ever estimate the right time and right duration of any phase. This downfall is a temporary one and when these coins, especially bitcoin will start recovering, they won’t take much time before reaching the set target. There is always a sudden increase or decrease in the value.

And what we can learn from that?Hodl,hodl.hodl.hodl.Inform your self about project, find the way how to use coin and invest only what you can afford to lose. And hold for a year.At least in Germany you don´t need to pay taxes for crypto if you hold 1 year.

It is still a down trend and no significant bullish run has happened yet! It has been a back and forth movement with a major downtrend in the summary. The only time when I will say there is a rise will be when the prices have been restored and it then rises above the initial price values. I anticipate a rise for April though.

It happens this way because there are the most popular and any negative things that happened always affect there price more than any other coins. I have seeing bitcoin also benefitting from positive thing from other coins. The price went down because of the attack bitcoin is having all over the world but for the past few days bitcoin and other coins has started recovering and we are about to see another healthy price movement.

All altcoins prices depends from Bitcoin, if BTC price go down, also altcoin prices go down. So you can check BTC price, and then you can also predict all altcoins prices too. But in shortly all prices go down and then go up, like in any market.

Where are those old days? As I see these price levels, I am burning for the investments I have not made and I understand how developed this market is. Arranged on the subject, I am aware of an old subject but I think it is nice to do occasional nostalgia. I am very curious about what people are doing now in purchasing at such a high price level.

Emphasis on education in the field of crypto-currency and lock-up. The saying "knowledge is power", of course, refers to cryptology. The blockade was once covered with a veil of mystery; no one knew exactly how this works, or how to explain it. Nevertheless, the year 2018 was a year full of major breakthroughs in the application of this technology.

It will simplify matters in the electronic money market as well as finance. The increase or decrease is due to the whole market factor. It does not automatically increase or decrease according to its mechanism. However, it will be stable in the market in the next days.
