Title: Moderator for the economics section
Post by: Your Point Is Invalid on April 11, 2016, 02:58:13 AM
Why is there no dedicated moderator for the economics section
It is fairly busy and has alot of spam from yobit users
I think theymos should assign someone to the board

Well, there is Blitz  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=4475)for the speculation section. However, he doesn't seem as active anymore.

I concur. It would not be bad if there was someone looking over that section.

Arent global moderators supposed to be moderating all the boards? I guess economics falls under the "all" category...

To be honest, I can't tell the difference between the economics section and the speculation section because they're both a shitstorm of "Bitcoin should go down so o can buy at $150 :D".

Yes, global moderators have the power to moderate every section. However, they might not be active at all times and reports from a particular section might be handled much later than others.

Update: Correct. You know what I meant, i.e. sometimes it will take reports longer to be processed.

There are several subs without dedicated mods. Have you been reporting their posts as well? Don't recall seeing your name in the que much. When you do they'll usually get handled pretty quickly though if nobody reports them nothing will be done about them.

Whatever mod is assigned to that section wont be on at all times either. Wouldn't be against adding existing mods to the others though.

FWIW, that section had a dedicated mod but without having the username displayed.
Before being promoted to Global Moderator I was mod of the Economy section among other sections(sans Economics > Speculation, where Blitz is moderator) just that my username wasn't displayed under Economics, only under Marketplace and Trading Discussion.
