Great find. It took me a second to see the difference! Have you visited the site? It is really copy of blockchain.info created for scamming purposes?
So you can buy search ads from google and they did not check what site they are promoting with their ads?

I just tested this with my adblock - and I am using AdBlockPlus and it doesn't block these paid search ads at all.
My search results looks exactly like that picture Op posted. But I won't click on that fake blockchain to test it, better safe than sorry.

Thanks for pointing out. I went to the site and take a look- It looks just like the real website. I wonder how many got into this scam, esp those who surf on mobile when they are on the move- very easy to "click" on the wrong ad/links.

As long as there is no confirmation from the parties concerned or other parties who claim that it is a good wallet, then certainly it is a fraudulent website and aims to trap people, they finally took the entire existing funds in it. I think Google is not guilty, because they aim to provide a service so that sites can be easily noticed by many people. And for this problem you can report it to Google

They´re aiming for the small screens. People are much more likely to fall for a scam like this squinting at a phone than using a regular computer.

Yes, which is why I have no use for those ads. I just use google to search and 99%  of the time  it´s for something that I´m not going to buy or have no reason to see advertised. So why would I need ads?

Yeah better keep away from that site and never click on it these kind of site should always be known as a scam so that new users will not fall into it.

Always check the spelling of sites before you access them via google. Nothing has changed, there will always be scum like this on the internet.

You should have 2FA on blockchain.info any way so you'd know it was a scam site any way.

Title: Re: BlockChain New Scam Site ?
Post by: Kprawn on April 11, 2016, 04:48:47 PM
I always type the whole address and I enable 2FA, but the main security feature I use is not to store large quantities of bitcoin on online services. You will never lose your

whole hoard, if you keep more that 80% of it in cold storage. If you make mistakes like this, you will only lose small quantities and you can continue as normal. For day to day

use, it is better to use a hardware wallet, like the Trezor.  ;)

Thats pretty slick, google should be more responsible in who they take money from. Sorry for my ignorance on this, was just curious how it was done.

It's funny since google adsense regime punishes regular users everyday, and things like this phising site seems to be ok.

That's it. When they have to pay, they are persnickety. But when someone's going to buy anything, they don't care to even check misleading links ::) Google already has engine that corrects any typos in search terms, why don't they use it that way?

yeah, thats a pretty great scam attempt to be honest because the newbies that use blockchain wallet might get hooked to that and show their id and password

i think that people should be careful and check all the webpage details if its the right one or not, i mean this scam does not even work properly, only the open wallet button works when pressed

Well the 2fa were maybe the big reason some accounts still has funds because passwords and adress were taken already ,soo for those i would recomend to change their password to avoid any problem.

Google doesn't take bitcoin seriously so it will not actively block those bitcoin-related scam sites.

If it is scams related to "real" legal tenders, I am sure them will take immediate action.
