Title: ETH down == BTC up (for now)
Post by: alani123 on April 11, 2016, 03:46:53 PM
No longer a bad time to go long IMO, ETH is going down down which can only mean that more money will be flooding bitcoin markets. 420$ suddenly seems more appealing for mid term. What we'll see in the following week or so might be the end of the sideways trailing the price has been experiencing.

ETH is just a p&d from the beginning. People lost a lot of money with it already and the only one who made some were the early btc adopters. Just watch out with ETH. You have been warned.

Really?
How much percentage has Eth lost the last few days?Something around 30% I would say.Same with some few other alts.
And how much has Bitcoin went up in that time? Almost nothing!
Fact is there was no shift back from alts into Bitcoin. It seems those guys decided to take fiat.
It will be interesting to see what is going to happen the next few days.

still laughing at those believing that ethereum could have matched bitcoin, i think they are new here, we have seen those shit plenty of time and always resolved in a big P&D

the butthurt is still strong in those that have missed the bitcoin train, and yes i would certainly buy everything at 400 wall, easy profit for the halving

ETH price was really low when i firstly saw it but now at 0.02 isn't bad, everything can happen pump or dump anytime, i hope traders will move to bitcoin, the price is $420 for few days know i really hope it will move to $440 at the end of the week.

to be honest I still can't believe there are many people still buy ethereum although prices have increased 1300% from the previous price.  :D

IBM is teaming up with them.. I have massive doubts about a pump and dump due to it took almost a year to move in price.. about the exact time IBM partnered with them it started moving.

It's the good old , buy the rumor - sell the news. eth is a cow that's milked dry, and i wouldn't come anywhere near it ever again as the probability for loss is quite high
given the fact that everyone wants out of it. That being said, there will most certainly be people that will escape from it right back to the only coin that really matters - the price rise in btc is imminent.

bitcoin will keep on growing, while ethereum price will fall at a slow pace, but it will never recover ever again, thats a bit sad though its better for bitcoin to not have any rivals in my opinion

i used to invest into ethereum part of my bitcoins though im now full on bitcoins because i know that a huge price increase awaits us pretty soon because of halving

I mean, as long you dont plan on holding it for long as bitcoin seems theres plenty of suckers for alt coin lol.

Make a profit if you can while its still a bubble.

That's exactly right, profit taking from the ICO is going to smash every such rally for quite some time now, there are wales in play and perhaps even the foundation is trying to take part in this so their funds don't become worthless. But bearish turnouts for crypto markets of that size are of course good for bitcoin since the money flowing in bitcoin markets can only increase.

Bitfinex BTC/USD reached 430 today.  ;D As much as I hope that the price will rise to such a level again, after seeing the response to 430 I believe that the price will most probably stay around current levels of ~425 USD for some time.

I think you have your 2's and 4's mixed up. But if we clear 430 and hold, we'll be in for another pump

You got it. People saw ETH as "cheap" and thought they could "get in on the ground floor" -- it's not so easy kids. But one way of learning is by paying tuition to Mr. Market.

And what would you do if price increase does not accompany the halving? Go back to ETH/other Alts?

Yeah... In the meantime, more sideways trailing for btc/usd

well, it was time that all those bag-holders start dumping their coins on the gullible people who has fallen victim to their FUD spams, and they will never learn.
and because it was just a pump and dump i don't think it will be the big rise for bitcoin but it will have an effect on bitcoin price because all those money is going to come back into bitcoin now.

I have to laugh that all the investors in ETH were ecstatic when the market cap broke $1b, yesterday it had dipped below $600m.

It really is a poor investment. There will be some easy Bitcoin flowing into the market, I'd expect a buy period over the next few days.

Yup, the trading volume of ETH is also falling so there's more space for liquidity to enter bitcoinmarkets. In a bullish run this could have a decently positive effect on the BTC/USD price, although the days following the popping of ETH's bubble didn't seem that exciting.

Ethereum is such a small market it's pricing has NO effect on bitcoin pricing.

 Unfortunately.

well 1B marketcap is not that small in terms of crypto market cap, it's quite big, no other altcoin did reached that market ever

reminder that Bitcoin is not an altcoin, before someone say "bitcoin"

ETH today is getting low while bitcoin is going up, in some exchanges eth hit 0.0178 comparing with few days before when the price was much higher, hopefully i don't own any eth right now and traded those that i had few days before.

Of course, ETH is an altcoin. All altcoins go down when BTC rises.

It really is a poor investment. There will be some easy Bitcoin flowing into the market, I'd expect a buy period over the next few days.

This poor investment multiplied my crypto wealth about 6x, even more then BTC did in 2013 Q4. Right now I'm in USD and EUR, waiting to see how the market will hold up 0.015 and possibly 0.01, less then that doesn't currently seem very likely.
Bitcoin is still a bad gamble in my book. The amount of accumulated coins and miners who are in debt just don't paint a pretty picture. Bitcoiners are currently euphoric over a 2week long 7% rise, only 80 days before halving. This desperation only makes me more skeptical of gambling with btc.
