My Guess?

$550/BTC

I'd say around $800 USD at minimum.

$500... I am pretty much sure about this value.

I think we don't see any much higher price than we have now. Price depends also on what people are willing to pay for it. My prediction between $400/450

This will take us to 650, that's my pretty guess. Some sites already using bitcoin as a form of payment, making it popular little by little.

Well knowing that the halving will influence the new value i believe we will be at the 600 dollars nothing above this.

I would guess it would double up or at least be 50% more than current prices so around $600-$700 at bare minimum. I think in 2017 we will see Bitcoin touching maybe the $1000 mark. I hope it's not just wishful thinking though  ;) But if we take into consideration the mechanics of supply and demand the price should be rising not going down.

I think it will be between $500 and $600. The price is now between $400 and $500 and  price is rising slowly again so I think it will not be that high. We just have to wait and see what is going to happen this year.

Maybe at $550, but i will wait until halving come. Because it's really big for bitcoin, and if the bitcoin's price can increase up to $600-700. I think in the end of 2016 the price will be $800-1000.

I think because halving happened this year will certainly give a substantial effect on the price of bitcoin. I do not think will remain in the $ 500 range. I'm sure more than that

The partnership between Barclays and Circle gives me some hope for the future. I saw all these banks working on private Blockchains and I started to doubt it's future, but news like this gives me some inspiration that everything is not lost.

If Circle can take Bitcoin mainstream with this partnership, we will see prices touching the $1000+ levels again. We will just need to wait for them and also to see how much OpenBazaar will add to the volume of use. ^smile^

My guess is somewhere between $300 and $400. A few months ago, BTC was being traded at $225 to $235. At that point, it was clear that Bitcoin was under-priced. But we have seen a sudden spike to $400-450 levels, and now it seems like the coin is over-priced. Taking in to account the current supply/demand situation, somewhere around $350 seems fair price for me.

650$ will be the price of bitcoin this coming 2017. As you can see right now bitcoin is stable at 427,and its going up day by day, will this be the sign of bitcoin halving that will occur in the next months

nothing higher than $700 are my thoughts. i am not even sure if we get to reach $600 this year/beginning of next year, even with the block halving heading towards us.

many say that the price of bitcoin will be higher when halving comes so lets see price after halving. maybe I could predict more easily when halving already occurred. because after halving give much influence to the bitcoin. I would probably agree with the price between $600- $700

Now, people are more aware with bitcoin, and they begin interested to invest in it.
Also, bitcoin price will increase when halving comes.

I'm thinking low $600s, but it all depends on the effect the halving has on the market. If we get close to $500 just from the price inching upwards alone, or even $475, then it is most likely we will hit $600 or above.

yeah it looks like we will be easier to predict the price in 2017 after halving occurs.
with notes. many people do not do panic seling. of course the price will be more stable to ride.

I think 800 dollars will the price of bitcoin at the end of this year and that will be the new lowest price of bitcoin.

$650 bitcoin halving incoming

We are now on our way to $500 so believe we will surpass that amount. I believe that the price at the end of 2016 and the of 2017 beginning will be around $600. I believe that 2017 is going to be a good year for Bitcoin. 

If all speculation about halving will become true it should touch the near $1k price.

But as of now even a small percentage of some expected speculations about the upcoming halving seems not present today so no, even as a speculation I can't guess some predictions.

The value at the end of the Bitcoin is going to depend on the halving, if the halving comes true then the price is going to be a bit lower I do not know how much.
If the halving does not come it is possible for the price to almost reach $700.

Technically speaking it's never about what people are willing to spend bcs whatever they spend they''ll take the spot price equivalent in btc. It's all about miners profitability (those who keep the network up & running). Give up on your poor speculation plz and buy some pop corn for the show.

*This doesn't mean that the price will be steady or something but the pin point moves from 420 to 840 due to the halving process.

*And as for raising the fees it's not a smart choice as this will be what will throw many start ups out of the game

my predictions for bitcoin prices at end of 2016 will still $1000 below and may be approximately $700-$800 and i wish would not less than those prices

To be honest it is impossible to predict the price of the Bitcoin, we do not know what the price is going to be like after the halving if we know that then it might be a bit easier to predict.

i am not sure that how much up it will go or how much  down it will go but i am sure after halving market will become active so i guess price will be around 650$ to 700$ at end of 2016

I think that the price at the end of 2016 is going to be around 600 or 700 Dollars. Of course it is going to depend on how the price moves and that is something that is pretty hard to predict.

I think bitcoin price on 2017 will be over $800.Im my opinion "the halving" will increase the price of bitcoin.

My prediction for the end of 2016 is that the price will be close to $575 and the beginning of 2017 $600. Some people might find it a bit low, but I prefer to stay realistic.

Well my prediction is that it is above 550$ in the beggining of 2017. It may be higher because maybe some factors will affect it. Maybe the near halving will affect it too.  ;D

Actually we have already exceeded that by around $80. So yeah, it would be interesting to see what happens after halving. The price could go both ways. It could hold its current level, or there could be a huge dump.

Well, $550 is quite a conservative guess in my opinion, because the bitcoin price is already way above that. You're basically betting now that bitcoin will go down in the following months instead of going up.

there'll be a correction summer and early fall.

I think almost everyone has experienced an wrong to predict. bitcoin always gives surprise to the users. beyond expectations at the beginning of 2016 the price of bitcoin has exceeded $600 now it was really unexpected by everyone? I would say the value in the begining of 2017 should be in between 900$ to 950$, Now the price is 675$ it will reach 900 0r 950$ for sure !!

it is hard to say what the exact price or even range of price would be by the end of this year because a lot of things will happen in the meantime that can change the course of everything and lead to a different price. but i do believe that price would surely be higher than $650 and depending on how things will going to be like it may even be above $1000

The value of the Bitcoin is going to be high and I hope that it is going to be $1000 at the end of 2016 so that I can sell some coins.

Price is not increasing faster as it increase 1 month back, now the price is almost stable in between 640$ - 660$ and it will not be 4 digit price by the end of this year. It will increase this year and next year but it takes a lil bit time more to cross 1200$.

I think the bitcoin price could be in the range between $1000 to $1200 in the early next year. It could be even higher.

My prediction is that bitcoin may achieve the 800 dollars this year, and at 2017 well its hard to say because it may be accepted by big companies and the price will reflect those support, as others merchants will follow, but without it  i believe 900 dollars can be reached.

I think the bitcoin price will be at least $900 by the end of the year. If there is other good news, the price will be higher.

Well i think it would be between $600 to $700 by that time, because the price is quite stable right now and i think it wont grow too much in just a few months, i wish it goes higher but that is just what i feel.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think we will see any substantial increase in the price of Bitcoin this year. I expect to have Bitcoin at $600 for Christmas as this is a 50% increase before the halving when Bitcoin was valued at $400 and it seems reasonable. We all want to have that 100% increase at $800 but this is probably going to happen in 2017.

My guess is that bitcoin price at the end of this year will be somewhere at $650 - $750, I have checked the last few years price and I believe that at the end of the year the price usually keeps increasing slightly and $750 is not a far target to be reached.

Next time we have to reach it no matter what, I want the price to be $1000 next year.

I think we have reached at some stable price already. This means in coming weeks/months by the end of 2016 another addition of 200 $- 300$ can be seen in price of Bitcoin. I would be much happy to see any further increase but to be realistic this is my expectation. I don't see price being stable or making new floor above 1000 $ by the end of this year.

I think at the end of this year or at the start of next year bitcoin will be at a better stage and will not drop to that value, it will be at about $700 and $900, or something amazing.

but i think at the end of this year or in the begining of the next year 2017 the price of bitcoin will be trading between 1000USD and 1200USD. because no one is ready to sell their bitcoin in any cost and holding it for the price increase. so i think it is best time to  buy bitcoin and hold it for some time.

The price of bitcoin will stick to its current price at 700$. Any falldown of the price is not possible to happen since bitcoin is in the state of growing and increasing. BUt the increase in price has already happened weeks before halving and the expected increase in price will going to happen next year. Thats how i compute the possible increase based on the previous yearly increased.

By the start of 2017 id expect a slight dip below current levels.  Probably around the 600-650 range.  I think we will stay at this range for a few years.  From now on i expect bitcoin to remain fairly stable with no more of the crazy price swings we're used to from the past.

I'm also thinking it will stabilize in the 600-650 range. The price will rise slowly to about $750 just before the 2020 halving and then shoot up suddenly to God knows what, before stabilizing at ~ $1000.

It's nice to see this post now, it shows how a reality some time ago can change so quickly in this world of cryptomoedas. Now I think stabilizes at $ 800 ~ $ 850 by the end of the year.

Halving is completed and its being now some time the prices are more or less stable at 650$ at present. Now the price at the end of the year may seems to be between 500 - 600$. Rise in price will depend if there is any big event comes or else it will generally take a dip.

That is obviously what bitcoin needs now, some adoption would surely take bitcoin to a higher peak than this and if that happens many users will sell a share of their coins because many of them are waiting for a higher price to sell the coins i guess, specially the ones who are wishing to convert their coins to their home currency for spendings.

I think the bitcoin price in January 2017 will be between $900 to 1200. That could be due to increased usage.

as having was an issue for the price of bitcoin, some people were thinking that after halving the price of bitcoin will increase while some  people were thinking that its price will decrease, we can see that the halving did not effect the price of bitcoin so much and it remain stable, now i think there are so many other good news about bitcoin we are waiting for therefore i can aspect that in future specially at  te end of this dis year or just at the begining of the next year the price of bitcoin will be reached to its all time high level may be cross 1200 USD level very easily.

I  think the price in January 2017 should be $700.
It's sitting around $655 right now but I think a 10% gain is totally possible over the next three months.

I estimate the current replacement price of bitcoin year which is about 1000 USD. many developments in the bitcoin today. bitcoin will have a strong market. and will also have a more of users.

It is possible to predict about the price what it will be by the end of year 2016, so let me predict it will be around $800-$900, because this range is looking realistic as the current trend can take it to that price range any time.

That would be the dream. Another 40-50%increase in bitcoin price this yeaf would be awesome. If all investors view the same and don't sell any bitcoins at the current price, bitcoins can only rise.

Bitcoin Breaks $650 and hits a new highest Price. Still we can see a steady market which makes even good usage and adoption meaning that Bitcoin is very close to reaching $1000 a coin by next year.

i think that price will be larger than it is now, it should be like 900$ more or less, but not above 1000$ for sure as price now is quite small so if we will have huge price rise now, we might see large price later

My guess is it will be around 600 - 700 at the beginning of 2017, I have no basis, but it just feels like it won't be moving down and if it does, it will not be very low, and last year, during  the December holiday, the price of bitcoin didn't go down, and in fact there is a price increase..

The price is expected to be around $800 by the end of this year. The same price continues to increase and stabilize around the same till the end of first month of 2017. After this gradual decrease in price might happen.

What do you plan to do with those predictions? I think bitcoin will stay around 700$ per 1 BTC, but who knows? If someone would tell me with guarantees like bitcoin will cost 1000$ I would invest all my money for that, but internet is full of scammer and you can't trust to no one, everybody is expert on this site, one say bitcoin is dead another promise 4000$ price. So believe yourself only and your own experience about bitcoin.

If anyone could know the guaranteed outcome after sometime of bitcoin price then everyone including me would have bought a lot of bitcoins right now to sell them later for earning profits, but that is obviously not the case because no one can know or tell if what will happen in next moment so how can someone know the things after months.

i honestly still think that there is going to be another big rise in bitcoin, so the price can still go up to $1000

and if that happens fast in the following month then it may go above $1000 and back to $800 but depending on the time it takes to go this route the final price may be anything in this range.

I wouldn't believe myself for I am seeing bitcoin will be around 1000 usd in the near 2017.  Often times we are blind with what we want to think or see.  It is better to observe the market and be aware of what is happening around Bitcoin then weigh the occurrences of the event. It is still not 100% for there are always this surprising factor.

I think bitcoin prices will continue to rise until a few years so my prediction bitcoin prices will stabilize at the beginning of 2017 or could be getting up

I think we would see some serious fluctuations in the price of bitcoin in near future. We should not underestimate the halving event happened recently, although we haven’t seen effects of halving on price chart (with sharp moves) but I am sure it will be there silently on a larger timeline.

I predict the price of bitcoin will keep fluctuating till the end of mid of next year and then we would see a sustainable growth. I assume price will be jumping around $500 to $900 in near future (2016 – 2017) and then it will start growing with a sustainable pace since mid of 2017.

If you just say a number without any form of mathematical calculation ( can be fundamental [ a bit hard with btc ], technical or quantitative ) it is called speculation and not a prediction.

I believe the price will reach 650 $ something per btc  and then it will slowly increase throughout the time. Its going down now but thats good. People can buy more btc to save them up for the rising of btc.

Well, i think it would go higher than just $650 by the end of this year, maybe it is going down a bit right now but it would grow again as it used to in past, so maybe it would reach $690 or $700+ by that time, hopefully.

My prediction, the value of bitcoin will be stable at $ 700-900, if an increase in value may not be much, but it all depends on the market and news and events that will be experienced later bitcoin.

I think the value of bitcoin in late 2016 or early 2017 will increase rather than the value of bitcoin now, it is my prediction because in previous years the value of bitcoin will rise at the end or beginning of the year.

If kimdotcom will continue with his project of utilizing Bitcoin on his new site, price of Bitcoin will definitely increase because there will be a demand of Bitcoin and demand will come not only from current Bitcoin users but also from new Bitcoin user who will use his site.

I think the value of bitcoin at the end of 2016 will be around  750 - 800 USD per BTC.  We may have some fall in price this last week but that is due to some hacking incident.  But as of now I think bitcoin is starting to recover.  People who are enthusiast with bitcoin are doing all their effort to promote it and I believe that it will not go in vain.

This year bitcoin can recover the recent hit taken from bitfinex security problem, my current speculation is bitcoin end the year at 700 dollars, and as we aproach to the next halving bitcoin will reach 800 and even 900 dollars once again. This price may be reached soon if some big companies and merchants start accepting bitcoin.

We already know that the more people or companies invest in bitcoin the more its price will grow, so if it is adopted by even just 2 or 3 companies it would grow drastically but we don't know if when that is gonna happen, so for now we can predict just as we think where it can go without adoption and i guess 700$ would be a good prediction for now.

Bitcoin is right now above $600 and it is moving ahead right now, so it has a lot of chances to go above $700 at the end of this year or in the starting of 2017.

I hope it is double than 550 $ and theres is a strong possibility of prices going up

I'm not sure when exactly the new megaupload file host by kim dotcom will be available but seems that his "event" will affect the price and I think that at the beginning of 2017 the price of bitcoin will be somewhere at $800. At the end of this year the price I think will be increased up to $700.

of course the price of the bitcoin is going to go up, of course it does have a lot of potential to go up pretty soon and allow us all to make some profit

Have no idea about what you are talking, a new megaupload file hosted by kim dotcom, but the price would only be able to achieve that target if the coins touches the adoption level somehow otherwise it wont be able that soon, maybe it can reach there but it would take more time without adoption and investments.

Kim dotcom is promosing many things after he got his megaupload venture getting blown away. At this moment it seems bitcoin depends on outside investors and for some reason those are not coming in. Which means we have to be more patience and hope for the best.

If you don't have any idea about megaupload then search the forum or search on google and you will find what I meant. Bitcoin price is not based on people's opinions but on real investors and on big projects because as much people use bitcoin the more the price will be increased in the future.

I would like to be optimistic so it would be around $650 at the beginning of 2017.  Its price this past weeks really goes down and I do not know why.  And since its price is currently low, I think by the end of this year it will goes up, as it is always the trend.  In addition we know that every Christmas season people do have more money as they have their bonuses.  Thing is some of them will put it to investment and I hope that they will buy bitcoin.

To think people will use their "Christmas" money on bit coin is quit far fetched. For the bitcoin price to increase there would need to be more news. The average person does not care and will just use credit cards. The future is much further than a lot of people think.

Yeah, just read about the service kim dotcom is going to launch in january 2017, and feeling really excited for that event to come because that would obviously bring a great increment in the users database of bitcoin which will increase the investments and that will increase the price.

Bitcoin is more susceptible from what happens in the dark net markets rather than a website of an individual , whoever this website and individual maybe. For the moment the price of bitcoin is stable because no major news from the markets. And of course bitcoin is also susceptible to big exchanges like bittfinex which when they get hacked the price of bitcoin go down momentarily. I think that this thread should be better at the Speculation section here and I think that if everything runs smoothly without major hacks until the end of 2016 we may see a price of 600-750 of the bitcoin.

If Trump gets elected, I bet a lot of people in the USA will invest in cryptocurrencies, so theres a good chance that the price will get a boost somewhere around November haha

there are many different things that can change the course of bitcoin price in the future so it is hard to predict it fir the beginning of 2017 but i am expecting a rise nonetheless. but the size of this rise depends on how many bad news is going to come out for bitcoin and how long it is going to stay low. there can be another breakout similar to 450 to 780

now bitcoin price is around $570 , because of hacking on some sites like exchange and other sites etc , price is gone down bit , probably at end of 2016 it may go up to $700 and then if news are good , buying is more like there are news that few companies coming up with huge projects with bitcoin, so probably in the beginning of 2017 it may go up to $900 :).

I wish it will happen one day but its won't happen too fast.Because in last few days some exchange sites got hacked,some did scam etc.for all this bitcoin prices dropped and I don't think it will cope with too fast. So, to hits a good price we should be patient. I think Price will be around 600-650$ in the last of 2016.

I agree with that. The Bitcoin is an international money. There are holidays every week in the world. So the price will not be affected.

Bad publicity. Bitcoin is still dropping its value because of attacks. Because of this, many people scared of owning bitcoins because of the attacks. They scared to lost their money. Some are panic sell their bitcoins. We cant do anything about this.

Don't worry bitcoin markets are so whimsical that shift of situation can happen over night. If not for that Bitfinex fail we would have stable $700 as of now.

Plus, I noticed that mid year price is always somewhat dull. Brisk of bitcoin's market movement is starting usually in Winter. We still have time to forget about stolen ~$65 million.

By looking from the previous year, i think the price of bitcoin will increase at the end of 2016 and back to normal at beginning of 2017, that is my prediction.

I`m almost a year in bitcoin world, and if it happen like last year, bitcoin price will go above 700 $. Maybe even more, nobody can predict that exactly. My prediction is based on my last year experience with bitcoins, price was down and after October it started to go up, and now price is 370 $ higher then in last September when price was around 200 $. Looks like there is truth in what some people said about how people are on vocations, and only when they come back they will start to use bitcoins again. I wasn't sure in that, but now when I look situation from last year and now, maybe there is some truth in that. We will see for couple months who was right.

Yeah, I also think that it will happen this year. because I see that the growth of the bitcoin in yesterday's almost equal to the growth of the bitcoin nowadays. well anything is possible with the price, though i doubt that another exchange hack is going to happen so fast

maybe another exchanger will get hacked too, but no body know about it, im sure each exchanger have potentially to scam because no people can give guarantee 100% about his service except local changer or decentralization changer like shapeshift

After the end of summer I can not see price of bitcoin going down, for that to happen we need to have some major problem in crypto space, for winter I can easy see 800+ $ and at the first quarter of 2017 1000$+ should be easy, by that time I hope mtgox fiasco will be finished or near the end, and if none exchange make more mistakes as they always do! we should see new ATH!

I agree with that. The price of the bitcoin is usually stable during the summer.
After the summer, the price will rise a lot. That happened last year.
