When you think about it its just people trying to replicate bitcoin and get some cash out of pump and dump schemes. Nothing really seems legit even the best ones like dash and eth dont seem to have alot going for them.

Bitcoin is the same pump and dump shit. The only real coins are the gold ones.

someday, fake isildur, some day one or more of them will not be,

some day, gold will be fake btc.

some day, btc will be fake alt coin.

really, all you gotta know is which day it is.

Well.... yes and no.

If you're only into trading alts for speculation and scam profit (and it seems 90% of people are) then, yes.

But if a community of like-minded people forms around an idea and the "coin" becomes equity in the community, then no.

All poetry is not worthless just because someone else wrote the first poem.

I don't think so in my opinion bitcoin is more valuable than gold now you can say bitcoin is a pump and dump if we are on 2013 but hey we are 2016 and all bitcoin holders and lovers are waiting for that huge zoom in it's value

A lot of people hold gold also hoping its value will grow. I see no difference.


But to stay on topic: There is a small % of altcoins that bring innovation. Some are beautiful projects, not just pump and dump schemes.

Yes, everyone is creating altcoins to make money from them,there are no serious developer who want to make a good project for community all they want is easy money by dumping them

it will take years though for these coins to get even partly to ths stage of bitcoin why would anyone have that much incentive to change

Some said the same about Bitcoin, not many years ago.

All alts and even bitcoin are just BS when they drop in price. When they got pumped, everybody was cheering for these coin and saying that they will take over the world. Even in the stock market, there will be pump and dump. That does not mean something is BS when it drops.

Haha, nice subject.  I would agree that the majority of alts are just BS and put out simply to make a quick profit, they have become much easier for people to create now and a lot of them are just clones with a fancy or stupid name.

There are some that do come out with a great community behind them and some serious development but yes the majority of alts are pure BS.

Not all alts but most of them are shit copy paste coins.still there are some good and innovative coins that brings something new to crypto.

Give new innovate coin some time - and you'll get something worthwhile

who was the second person on the moon? probably you don't know. Same applies everywhere,  Bitcoin is first and altcoins are second,  third etc....  nobody remembers second, few will remember them for a few moments.

Sounds like you need to move on from crypto then.  But I disagree,  the bitcoin market is too deep to pump and dump unless you're a major whale. 

OP, yes altcoins are all shit unless they actually get used.  And most don't.

well, that is true. almost all of the altcoins were created just to copy bitcoin and they don't have any real application for the real world unlike bitcoin.

but there are a couple of them which are not yet good but have some good features to them that you should not ignore.

but anyways the first purpose of all altcoins are to help us make more bitcoin by trading them :D

Altcoins are one of the main reasons BTC even has value. They give an extremely large avenue to use btc compared to retail or online  sales of items. Without altcoins BTC use would plummet to all time lows as its uses would sharply decrease.

Bonus, BTC is an altcoin itself as E-Cash was the very first cryptocurrency introduced in the 80's that was actually adopted by use in banks. BTC didn't show up until 10 years after the E-Cash experiment finally went under.

The only difference is bitcoin gets pumped and dumped constantly, gold doesn't. You can think whatever you want but BTC is a virtual asset and gold has been real money for ages.

Some.  I've owned both of those, more Dash than eth.  I don't use dark markets and such, so I don't know if there's any real use for 99.99% of these shitcoins.  Doge has a loyal following,  I've noticed. 

ive just never found a convincing enough reason to invest in them to be honest. It seems some of the positive posts surrounding shit coins like dash are purely from the basis of those trying to pump and dump the currency
