Title: Bartertown, the BTC flea market thread
Post by: Beelzebuddy on October 11, 2010, 06:56:12 PM
How do we not have a thread for miscellaneous trading?
Well, we do now.

If you have something specific you'd like to buy or sell with BTC, post it here.  You don't need to make hard BTC offers, but just say what you want to buy or sell and negotiate price when someone contacts you.  Also, please limit yourself to one posting - there's an edit function for a reason - and limit discussion so that other users can browse postings efficiently.  Trading via private messaging would be preferable, but DO report scammers for the benefit of the rest of us.  Actually, report non-scammers too, for possible induction in the honest traders thread.

My posting:

I'm trying to automate most of my trading via my website (http://derpular.dyndns.org) but I'll use this space to test the waters of stuff I haven't coded yet.

I want to Buy

KoL Meat - check website (http://derpular.dyndns.org/BTCKOL)
EVE ISK

I want to Sell

KoL Meat - check website (http://derpular.dyndns.org/BTCKOL)
EVE ISK
TF2 items (scrap metal, some weapons)

Internet

Isn't there an eBay-type site somewhere for this sort of thing?
If there isn't, shouldn't there be???

There are several, one following the ebay model and one following the craigslist model.  This thread, however, is

a) in a central location with an audience who probably checks neither of the above,
b) works for items/services which don't fit well into the other site's categories,
c) doesn't require pricing information, which is a hurdle for me at least
d) lets you see what other people WANT, instead of what they're offering.

Feel free to link to your auctions on other sites, though.  What I'm trying to encourage is a detailing of what people want to see for sale or barter without commitment to actual prices, so that people can find and explore new economic niches.

I sell:

Coin set EURO Germany 2007 A-J Stempelglanz

same as on this link:
http://cgi.ebay.de/Deutschland-Original-KMS-2007-Blister-A-J-siehe-Text-/250681019369?pt=M%C3%BCnzen_Medaillen&hash=item3a5dc0cbe9

currently on ebay for 84 EUR instant buy.

I will ship within Europe and potentially overseas, and we need to align shipping prices.

I'm working on a website to do just this. Basically you post notices about what you want of have and any other information you feel like including; essentially a notice board for bitcoin traders.

It's encouraging to see interest in my project (albeit indirect). Hopefully I'll have it ready by next week.

I think bitlist is better for this than biddingpond.  Since people are looking to sell things for specific amounts.
