Title: Dual male USB to single female pcb? Post by: gt_addict on April 12, 2016, 08:56:15 PM Hi guys,
This may be in the wrong section so mods please move it if needed :) Basically I have a d-link h7 powered USB hub and want to join two ports into one so I can crank up the gekko stick I got free when I bought a u3 on eBay. But I would prefer not to use a cable as I want to keep it as secure as possible and "airborne" so it gets plenty of airflow from a nearby Arctic breeze fan. So does anyone know if there is such a pcb with two male ports going to a single female, or does anyone know how I can make one? Bare in mind my soldering skills are basic :'( Or if anyone can make me one to suit my needs id be great full and willing to slide over some btc. I'm in the U.K by the way. Thanks everyone. Post by: alh on April 12, 2016, 09:21:01 PM Hey Phil, Could you check the Newegg link above for accuracy? It seems to head off to a Thermaltake Fan product.
I was expecting something more like a "Y USB Cable" kinda gadget. Title: Re: Dual male USB to single female pcb? I was expecting something more like a "Y USB Cable" kinda gadget. I told him get the standard cable and a better fan. that fan is usb with feet and you can lay 3 compacs on it if you have a y cable. if you wait 1 or 3 minutes will photo it Title: Re: Dual male USB to single female pcb? Post by: gt_addict on April 12, 2016, 10:28:21 PM Cheers for the link Phil. Can't get those fans over here, but you have given me an idea about using a 120mm case fan, some aluminium "square U" shape bar and a cheap fan speed regulator.
If I get the standard Y cable I can stack my U3's on the case fan stand I'll be making, with the gekko stick on top crowning the tower :D It'll be a bit bodged together but should provide plenty of cooling.
