While law enforcement officials scoured the hillsides above Big Bear Tuesday searching for Christopher Dorner, wardens from California’s Department of Fish and Wildlife were called in to patrol the rugged terrain of California 38.

It was on that highway that the officers first encountered Dorner fleeing in a stolen car, engaging the fugitive in a white-knuckle chase in which the ex-cop commandeered two different vehicles, authorities said. The pursuit culminated in what officials described as a wild shootout between Dorner and a state game warden.

The actions by alert wildlife officers may have set in motion Dorner’s last stand -- in a snowbound cabin, surrounded by police. The cabin burned to the ground, and authorities believe Dorner was inside.

No due process.

I doubt they are still covering it. The PD is having all media go silent.

Lel, the local police department is asking people to stop tweeting about #Dorner.

Look how many news sites have turned off comments on Dorner articles.  The lamest excuse I saw was "they're becoming repetitive."

What wusses; no wonder people are so furious at the media and pissed at all the dirt cops.

"OMG Americans still support watering the tree of liberty!  Quick, silence them before we lose our cushy BS paper pushing jobs!"
I think they just shutdown Twitter on #Dorner. The controlled media conspiracy seems correct.

Lel, the local police department is asking people to stop tweeting about #Dorner.

They're afraid of supporters rushing to the scene to help the man complete his mission.

They want him killed without Due Process, in an information vacuum.

Look how many news sites have turned off (the flood of overwhelmingly anti-police) comments on Dorner articles.

The lamest excuse I saw was "they're becoming repetitive."  Aww, poor babies.   :D

Wasn't Aaron Swartz working on a decentralized P2P version Twitter when they decided to lock him up for 30 years?

This wouldn't be hard to make at all. We need it. Also, there are reports Dorner has gotten away but the PD is super quiet. Man, this is getting insane.

The cabin is said to have a basement.

Common rumor: Dorner may have escaped in a stolen cop car.

Tweet: LAPD has no idea if it is even Dorner: https://twitter.com/JansetChek/status/301477981782700032

Run, Big Bear, Run!

Don't let them take you alive.  Don't leave behind anything with DNA.

Ascend into martyrdom.  Show the sheep what one man can do.

The cabin was lit on fire, Dorner might be dead, but he may have escaped.

Twitter is showing claims of reporters being kicked out the area, the police aren't answering questions, the scanner has gone totally quiet.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was an innocent person in the cabin and now the police are trying to figure out how to justify or cover up their actions.

The cabin is said to have a basement.

If he was IN the cabin he is dead.  Even with a gas mask, even in a basement the heat would be too much.

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck had called Dorner "a domestic terrorist," and a $1 million reward, raised from public and private sources, was offered. Police received more than 1,000 tips.

Booooo. >:(

What's funny is I was listening to the local radio station KNX 1070 (I live 5 miles from Dorners parent's house) and they had no problem airing the cops shouting multiple profanities at the CBS reporter who got too close to the action, but then they shut down postings on their website regarding it.  Somehow I doubt the FCC is going to fine them for indecency breaches.  You know it was going to happen too because I was hearing over 800 rounds being fired for 2 minutes over live radio  :o

I generally am trustful of law enforcement but LAPD and LA Sherrifs are filled with crap with Baca and Beck - more like Beavis and Butthead.  They had no intention of arresting this guy and taking him to court, but they've coddled far worse violent offenders in the past.

The Constitution was burned long ago.

The quote by Bush which called the constitution "just a piece of paper" or something like that makes me laugh.

Well, George, if it's just a piece of paper, then I guess you have no right to tell everyone else what they can and can't do, since your right to govern is based on what the constitution says.

Of course I do agree with Bush on this point.   It is indeed just a piece of paper that in no way binds 300 million people to anything.  I don't see many signatures on it...

So which one of you has nuts as big as your mouth? Would you go in the cabin? This is not a movie, the doorman is likely to die and if Dorner has explosives then the whole entry team goes.
Dorner decided to die. He knew how this story was going to end. Good riddens scumbag.

It is not about the cops being cowards, it is about the fact that burning suspects alive without due process is illegal. Clearly Dorner knew this would be a probable outcome, but in a way they kind of gave him what he wanted. They martyred him.
