It always amazes me that people in Democrat-controlled states are so excited about Obama. They always seem to point to the Republican failures and that makes them feel good.

What's funny too, is the brainwashing not only makes them direct everything bad that happens at the other party, but also everything good that happens at themselves. The other day I was talking to a die-hard republican friend of mine, and he was absolutely convinced that the Republicans were the main proponents of the civil rights movement and that Democrats were the only pro-segregation force that was stopping it from happening.

I didn't hear the address, but can't say I'd be surprised if .gov tried to lock down 3D printing with regulations, "investment programs" (think solyndra) and such. It has too much potential to not try and fuck it all up.

This would be important if America was the only country in the world. But it's not, and the development of 3d printing technology will continue unimpeded.

Although, much of the Western world's governments at least, particularly here in Australia, are eager to kowtow and follow the American government.   Certainly here, our politicians seem to look up to those in America as something to aspire to.   ::)
