do the mods know, at what hours does the forum have most users online (gmt central time for example)

Judging from the recent 502 bad gateway error, it would be something around
4pmGMT (16-17) Just a speculation as to no real data are in my possession.
Besides it is the rush hour in general, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's accurate.

Yeah, there are different time zones so it's hard to say. But I suppose, in.general could be late afternoon or evening and night?

I noticed a discrepancy with one user recently who had a relatively steady 24 hour posting pattern, which was perculiar. I checked a few other users at the time, 1am-6am had almost no posts and the rest of the day had peaks & troughs for everyone else. Whether that is based on forum time or the user's defined timezone is another question.

Would guess somewhere around Eastern time Zone 4-7 pm,just a hunch. Was wondering if there was a section to track this activity because it feels like certain subforums have died down but it may just be my perception.

@Lauda

1) Mods don't have access to this kind of information.
2) This information is useless.
3) Anyone who posts here is making random guesses.

1. But some one does, not risk in asking, just because the front line does not have the details.
2. I actually think it is interesting because it would give you a demographic look at what timezone and roughly which Countries are posting the most here. Well second and maybe thirdl.

3. Disagree

3) Anyone who posts here is mostly like going to be making random guesses.

Update: Rephrased post.

This forum is visited by people from around the globe so it is not possible that some particular point of time it has more users but I think lot of users get online on weekend for long hours

Nonsense. Your statement could only make sense if the forum's userbase was evenly distributed over the globe. This is obviously not the case. Additionally, there is a thing called peak time (there is no reason for the forum not to have one). Look it up.

Wrong. The times that posts are made are public and all of the posts (except in three subs) are public, so all someone would need to do is crawl all of the forum's threads and make a list of the times when each post was originally posted. There are several sites that are essentially mirrors of the forum so this has essentially been done multiple times before.

Might get the time during the day the most posts are posted.  But I think the forums have a good amount off lurkers, and members not posting.  So it's possible the most posted time of day does not equal most viewed.... we don't have data as normal people to say.

Also I would imagine top usage also has to do with attacks.  It seems that sometimes forum get's attacked and has a slow down.  These are not going to be easy to predict but if talking about most resources used it's likely during an attack.  And that is just my guess I have no data to back that up.
