Why don't you have a minimum amount to buy a ticket? The prizes seem quite low right now.
Also, and since there aren't many users buying tickets right now, why not add a little extra to the jackpot, to raise interest?

You're right, from a theoretical point of view, a miner could behave in order to rise his chances to win the pot.

However, from a practical point of view, this is not very realistic, because you would need a significant hash power. Then, a miner, that ignores a block may loose the block reward, meaning that currently, if the pot is less than 25 BTC, no miner would even try to do it.

In order to avoid what you mention, we can include a secret seed, that would be revealed every n games. This would also mean that you would have to wait n days to verify the drawing, and you would have to verify all the drawings of the period.

If the pot becomes larger than the block reward, we will implement it.

How are you providing a probably fair system in lottery? Ignore the fact that I have visited your site and explain it here.
Btw it would be better if you integrate random.org's Quick Pick feature rather than blockchain's hash in order to get variable and more random outcomes.

The lottery is provably fair, meaning that you have access to the random number, which is used for the drawing, and you can recompute the drawing yourself if you want to verify it.
The algorithm to pick the winner is as following:

If we were using random.org, how would you make sure that we are not cheating you? What would prevent me to play one game a day, and win all the drawings? With the block hash, I use a number, which is easy to access.
With respect to randomness, we already discussed the point in this thread. The only problem is if the pot is higher than the block reward. As soon as it happens, we'll introduce a secret seed, that will be revealed on a regular basis, in order to be sure that a miner would not have any incentive ignoring a block.

What logic you're applying there ? The more you play increases your chances to win and not the "amount''.I mean if everyone won with the higher deposits ,why would it be a lottery in the first place ?

It depends on the total pot, and I'm sure no one will have 100% chance of winning unless you are the only one who play. Lets say you send 1btc and the total pot is 2btc, means that you have 50% winning chance.
Someone with 1% still have the chance to win the prize because it is provably fair lottery but he will need a great luck to win with only 1% chance.

As I understand this lottery is not using a ticket system, you just need to send any amount of btc. Then chance of your winning depends on how much your deposit divided by the total pot.

Is the percentage of your bet compared to the rest of the pot directly proportional to your chance of winning?  It doesn't seem very clear from anything that I have read.  For example, if I bet 0.1 bitcoin which brings the pot total to 1 bitcoin, does that mean I have a 10% chance of winning?  If that's the case it seems like someone with a lot of bitcoin could constantly just keep stealing the pot by betting a 1000 bitcoin for example.  This would also mean that your chance of winning would go down with every new bet by someone else.  The game looks really attractive and interesting, just wanting some clarification on the odds.

Unless player's address is tagged, it's very difficult to say whether a player is recurring or not. I can identify some recurring players, but mostly when their bets are larger than 0.01BTC

We also have some players trying very small amounts (less than 100k satoshis), but I have no way to know if and when they play again.

I think brakoo is set out like this, so if someone who plays alot deposits without changing their bitcoin address regardless of the amount that has been sent to the pot then he should have a easier chance of winning because you always mention that it's provably fair and i hope this is not a fixed game where you actually choose the winner otherwise you'll just be misleading us so you can market your website.

I like the idea of having your chances of winning being increased with respect to the total played amount, regardless the round. That would give an incentive to use always the same address. I'll consider a solution in a future release.

With respect to the fairness, I guess at least one person challenged the result. I'll come up with a framework to check it in a simple manner.

This is actually quite brilliant and fair.

I assumed this might happen with the lack of profit that Brakoo generated for the past few months and its very sad for you to close it down. Maybe I recommend a signature campaign for you to promote the site. Because its a pretty innovative site compared to most of the other sites out there.

You put alot of effort into the design and programming of Brakoo you shouldn't just close it down like that. Try to advertise it in some way. Maybe some type of giveaway to get the attention it deserves.

The effort was not only on design, but in the whole IT dev, and the biggest part was about promoting it.
I think that it would work better with a daily jackpot like 10 BTC or more. As far as I am concerned, I cannot afford having such jackpot.

As a game manager, when I was playing more than 1BTC in a single day, I attracted players, some would play 0.1 BTC even, and have something like 10% chances of winning.

the rationals to close it, is the cost of the IT infrastructure, the time spend to maintain the game running, and the cost of marketing.
