Title: BTCFPGA - BTC 345 Refund
Post by: SolarSilver on February 13, 2013, 11:41:05 PM
Hi,

I had been issued a CC refund for the order I had at BTCFPGA in January

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137876.msg1474256#msg1474256

and today Tom refunded the BTC he owed me for an order of 8 units @ $USD 1069 that were paid with BTC and Mt.Gox redeem codes

(there was no shipping cost paid as I was charging transport to my UPS account to facilitate customs handling and frankly it was cheaper than the DHL option offered)

Proof:

In case you are wondering, yes, at 2013-02-13 22:50:22 I transferred the funds to pay for another purchase.

Lucreatia, My Reflection

I have been trying to contact Tom for a while now and there was never a response after he stopped reply in Jan.

I did have a phone call with Agath when he posted he got a refund for his pre-order (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=143667.0) and he confirmed the communication from Tom is sparse but he is keeping his promise to refund all open accounts.

I can only confirm the intentions both Tom posted to the https://www.btcfpga.com/forum/index.php?topic=1048.0 forum

It's been reflected in the wire transfers he did, the CC refunds and the BTC refunds he is starting up.

So Tom is waiting until the bitcoin reaches the highest price (24 USD/BTC)? So even if everybody receives it's refund Tom has probably made more than 800,000 USD with this stunt.

Anyway, getting a fraction of the paid BTC back is better than nothing.

Edit: I did not yet receive a single Satoshi from Tom.

4 years later and I must owe Tom a big thank you for honouring his refund. Who would have thought...

607,000 USD worth of coins today... Damn, who would've thought that BTC would go up so much in price :) I hope those coins went to a good purpose!
