It's a cute troll but, not that cute.

The conversion block number is 202 and the MinStakeAge is 24 hours, so blocks should start staking after 24 hours, as more than 202 blocks are going to be mined in a day.
And 200K isn't much compared to the multitude of "dump truck stakers" that have been released as of late.

I shall officially endorse this on behalf of the Trolls Union #418 if the developer makes an open and honest attempt to remove irc.cpp from the wallet as well as add in additional "backup" seeds within net.cpp(around line 1235 in net.cpp would suffice) as soon as the resources come available.

Yeah you'll notice a single seed on the first line of the PNSeeds section in net.cpp that's commented out......a hex interpretation of an IPV4 address.
But I need fixed nodes to do that

Really? 200,000 premine. WoW.
It's a cute troll but, not that cute.

Just to be clear, you are in a dev team of a coin with a huge premine, too (XDE2). So, your comment is a bit out of place, to say the least.
PS. I don't care about both coins.

The S3 adds the stratum+tcp:// to any naked IP number....as far as I know.
I know you can solomine with an S1, but that REALLY taxes the wallet.
In fact a handful (3-4) Antminer U2's will cause your miner software to spit messages about "pool not providing work fast enough"

I got home tonight a half dozen or so concerned miners/traders that think TKN isn't going to hold any long term value at the current POW block reward.

Anyone have any opinions about this?

Title: Re: [ANN] They're here! TrollTokens POW/POS sha256 hybrid

well I found an error in the existing wallet....apparently I set the block time to three instead of four minutes.
That helps the miners bet screws both the stakers and any long term investors.

I would not worry about miners, miners mine & sell, they do not hold coins. It's providing early liquidity that will change with the POW reward decrease.

Hello JustBob!
How long will take PoW period? infinitely or..?

How much  maximum of total coins will be mined?

Title: Re: [ANN] They're here! TrollTokens POW/POS sha256 hybrid

The purported maximum as per the code is 860 million coins, and the mining period is indefinite, right now anyways.
Although I am hearing from users saying they're worried about the long term value at the current block reward.

Adopt a troll program TKN: PGQCDX9eZL9rzfzggWnVNcCEvL5ghteeq3

Actually, it's fairly simple to "undefine" the IRC server IP number and name in irc.cpp (Lines 227, 229), which then throws a "ThreadIRCSeed exited" message to the debug log, and jumps straight into using the PnSeed array via the ThreadOpenConnections thread, after trying the DNSSeeds, which I also undefined for the sake of this test.
No DNSSeeder and no IRC means zero connections unless of course PnSeeds is being used.

Is there anything in particular that you don't like in irc.cpp other than the fact that it connects to an IRC server.....or at least used to connect to an IRC server?

But come to think of it, there's two ultility features that I'm looking at.
The first is the ability to split blocks to a defined size via the GUI.
And the second is the ability to recombine split blocks, again, to a defined size, and again, via the GUI.

I enabled the checkpoint server feature tonight.
In coming days I'm going to be calling for a mandatory update.
There's a few things that just aren't right in the wallet yet, with the blocktime inaccuracy being only one.
The checkpoint server and the PNseeds "server"(I'm dropping the DNSSeed server) are going to be the transitional link between the old network version and the new.
After a suitable span of time(maybe two weeks) to allow all clients to update, I'll be shutting down the transitional link.
After the transitional link is shut down, the checkpoint server will define which is and is not a valid fork in any potential blockchain forks, and the PNSeeds "server" will provide a basic set of nodes, to keep all clients on the same chain.

Should be 1 TKN now, after block 20001.

Code:
     else if(pindexBest->nHeight+1 >= 20001)
    {
        nSubsidy = 1 * COIN;
    }

Although I am seeing that there's a few old clients still out there.
Today I'll be rebuilding the seednode and checkpoint "server" to reject connections from any non updated clients.

I don't know if they're on the updated client or not, but they're not connected to the seednode, nor the checkpoint "server", as there's no old nodes connected.

The current version is 60016.
And the error message doesn't apply to that version but is still propagated through that version to the rest of the clients.
Your client can and does work as expected.

Wait, let me double check, as you seem to have too few blocks.
Until either:
a) we get everyone updated to the new version.
or
b)people start using a "forced update" version that refuses connections from the version 60014 clients.

We have a very good chance, and might be seeing a fork in the blockchain.

The checkpoint server and a few clients are running version 1.4.4.9, which is identically the same as 1.2.2.3 with the exception that they refuse connections from clients using network protocol version 60014.
If you'd like that version it's at both Bitbucket in the downloads and github in the releases labeled trolltokens-win-forceupdate.zip.
The code repositories have already been updated......bit I really didn't want to have to "kick folks out" that haven't or maybe didn't want to update.....yet.

On May 7th I called for and released the update, and activated auto checkpointing in the new 1.2.2.3 wallets which are running network protocol version 60016 but accept connections from the earlier network protocol version 60014.

The forceupdate version was released on 5/14.
On May 13th, block 20001 was mined, and all the clients hadn't updated yet.

I'm updating to version 1.4.4.9, time to force the change.
I didn't want to have to do that yet, but if I can't get folks in the industry on the same page, yeah, I guess it's time.

1.2.2.3 talks to both the old version 60014 and the new 60016.

Old version might or might not be on the same fork of the blockchain  depending on the contents of their current peers.dat file, new version won't do that.

Ok, here's the link to the newest official version for windows, linux users can rebuild from the source repositories as the code on both Bitbucket and github has already been updated.

https://bitbucket.org/ZooTaLLures/trolltokens/downloads/TrollTokens-win-forceupdate.zip (https://bitbucket.org/ZooTaLLures/trolltokens/downloads/TrollTokens-win-forceupdate.zip)

This time, being a hard fork to fix the blockchain issue, folks are going to have to dump everything but their wallet.dat file in their ~/.TrollTokens dirctory (linux) or  their %appdata%/roaming/TrollTokens folder in windows.

This of course means users will have to resynch from scratch.
Being a young coin, that shouldn't take too long.

I'll go fix the Opening announcement post now and start sending out to the folks that provide the various services related to TKN within the industry.

Yes :)

Next time, please pm me with such information  ;D

Also, there is a very small bug in the source... Making version display errors..

https://github.com/Justbob1956/TrollTokens/blob/master/src/version.h#L15-L18
Because you made these changes, the version display information of the "getpeerinfo" rpc call gets multiplied by these changed values ;)
These numbers all need to be 1.. as in:

Code:
1000000 * CLIENT_VERSION_MAJOR
   10000 * CLIENT_VERSION_MINOR
      100 * CLIENT_VERSION_REVISION
         1 * CLIENT_VERSION_BUILD;

If you need more info on that, pm me  ;)

Explorer will go down for another update later today...

Regards,
Banzai

That's the second time I get to thank you for bits of info, as quite frankly, I was pulling the very few hairs I have left in my head out, because I couldn't for the life of me, figure out why it was reporting 1.2.2.3 locally but 1.4.4.9 over the network.

Anyways, as of this moment, I think it's more important to get everything stabilized, as that string (1.4.4.9 vs 1.2.2.3) is just that.....a string of characters.
It doesn't seem to affect the functionality of the client, and in many respects, defines the force update release.

Right now, of greater importance is completing the "shim" I'm working on.....to get some "real world" use in the coin, and I think I've got a winner of an idea there.

think I've found a solution.
It's not an elegant solution, but it is a solution.

Issue is, I can't manage to get past that alert that pertains to all network protocol versions up to and including 60016.
The sendalert syntax is correct, yet it's having issues parsing the JSON of the cancellation of the alert.

I've been at this for 4 fucking days and 4 fucking nights now.....I'm NOT going to let this fucking coin die......even if I gotta' piss on a spark plug to keep it going!

So I downloaded the wallet. Deleted the block chain and let it resync and now I'm on the same block as both explorers. My wallet is not unlocked for staking.

I don't know of any solo pools....but I do know there's a "obsolete" project on github called "stratum solo mining".....and that should fix antminers penchant for adding "stratum+tcp://" to any URL chosen to point a miner at.
I know about this as, I'm a miner at heart.....and my S5's my C1 and my S3+'s add that accursed stratum+tcp:// to any URL that's pointing at a wallet for solomining.

Why antminer decide to do this is beyond me.....unless that is, they think that miners are too stupid to set up their own gear.

(edited in) my S1's don't add that accursed stratum+tcp://......so one might want to reactivate their S1's and point them at a local wallet......or a pool if they so choose

Get version 1.2.2.4
I'd also, as a precaution dump everything in your %appdata%\roaming folder except for your wallet.dat before starting up the new client.
Or your ~/.TrollTokens directory if you're running some linux variant

And sorry for the slow response.....I'm working on a way for folks to spend TKN other than dumping them on the exchanges.
I've got a skeletal web interface completed which allows one to make deposits and withdrawals, and have the hooks into the database interface for the chosen application now.

Progress Report
A friend a I started beta testing the TKN/game interface I've been working on.
Everything looks good, and while a bit clunky in this first beta version, everything works as expected.

As far as c-cex goes, I've offered to subsidize them in the amount that they'd earn at their required .2BTC in trade volume per day, and I've got enough BTC here in my wallet that, along with what I've got sitting on c-cex, I can finance continued listing for close to 6 months if need be.

Good thinking, sound sensible for everyone. Maybe consider Alcurex, it's very infant still but perhaps can gain some interest of the coin there.

My wallet does not sync. Any info about that? And by the way, how do I reset my password on GCPOOL? Link reset does not work.
Thank you

My wallet does not sync. Any info about that?

There's some nodes here: http://chain.blockpioneers.info/tkn/nodes.php

You'll need to make a .conf file... I guess it will be TrollTokens.conf or similar.  Do you know how to do that?

Are you using Windows?  If so...

Open an Explorer window and type %appdata% in the location bar.

Make sure that hidden files and file extensions are visible: https://sli.mg/OiaRMP

Find the TrollTokens folder there and enter it.

Right-click to make a new text document called TrollTokens.conf and open it in Notepad.

Add lines to it from that link I gave you like:

Code:
addnode=88.206.186.58:65009
addnode=109.91.54.210:48183
etc.

Save and exit.

Make sure that the file you just made does not have a .txt extension.  The extension should just be .conf

Now the next time you start your TKN wallet, it will have some new ideas about which nodes to try to connect to :-)

Well even If I try all above, still 0 connections, thus out of sync.

What's going on with this coin Bob?

Bob you have to get some more nodes up and running , currently people can't buy these because yobit wallet is in maintenance and we don't have much we can do with our bags but wait for you to update us or get this on a decent exchange

Thanks for your help, this node is working.

I have read through entire Thread & added EVERY Node listed to my .conf file, but still have 0 connections to TrollTokens Network making it impossible to sync my wallet. And yes, I have tried the two different Wallet versions I came across, unless there is a third I missed..

There were more node IPs listed on the block explorer website (the ones I pasted here were just a sample) but that seems to be broken now...

This coin is being delisted on Nova Exchange.

Please list any working nodes and I will send them into Nova so that withdrawals can be made.

This coin, TrollTokens, is not on Bittrex and never has been.

Its ticker, TKN, as repurposed by CoinBase(?) for their 'TokenCard' thing, which is nothing to do with TrollTokens.
