Title: Job forum
Post by: olarsson on April 17, 2016, 07:09:02 PM
It would be good if Bitcointalk-forum had job-posting subforum directed specifically toward crypoto currency related jobs. Now there is a "services" subforum but it is not the same thing. If search jobs I dont want to read that it is possible to play at casino with cryptos.

Good idea or bad idea according to you?

These topics should go in the gambling section and not in the services section. If you posted "how do I earn bitcoin?" You will get these answers, but that not because of the sub board you post. If you want to get hired let people know what your skills are. If you post "experienced c++ coder looking for work" I doubt any would answer "you can gamble". If so, its an offtopic post and can be reported to staff.

Thank you for you answer. NXT-forum has a usefull job section and I still think it would be good to have on bitcointalk forum. I think there is a huge difference between wanting to hire people for work and advertising and promoting crypto related online services.

I don't think that a dedicated section for "jobs" is a good idea for the forum.

You wouldn't see many legitimate posts in a dedicated section. I'm pretty sure it would be one of the least active section, excluding local boards.
I suppose it's best to keep those posts in the services section.

I post a link to NXT-job sub forum so you can see what it looks like:

The jobs are mostly people piecing out the dummy end aspect of a job. Meaning it usually pays peanuts. Those with talent have their own threads and most of their work is built through trust.
Create a job section and it will be pages of spam about having no work and no skill. Translating to begging and we need to keep that under wraps.

I totally agree with you there are other forums that has a job section and 90% that are posted there are ptc and gpt and work from home related so it's not really worth to have that kind of section here..

Reading Services is not very comfortable as a freelancer, because of prelevance of captcha and signature threads.

The funniest aspect of bitcoin is how cheap people are willing to do jobs. If a company like Walmart got wind of this it would be on bitcoin like white on rice. Not sure if its the age of most new adopters or the location in the world that makes it such a issue.
Maybe its to many people read 4 day work week and are attempting to copy the model.

I think it's not a good idea to make it a sub here on Bitcointalk. However a separate forum, like bitcoingarden that came into existance after giveaways were banned in the alts section, is a good idea. This forum should stay with it's core and shootoffs only support the integration of Bitcoins use in daily life.

I would say that services is the way to go here.

I totally agree with the above--there are people on here who are willing to do useful work for what amounts to pennies.  But I think a job section wouldn't be the worst idea ever.  It would have to be well-moderated though.

I agree with OP, a special board for people looking for work and people giving work would make things easier for those of us who earn the bulk of our bitcoin that way.

Dont see why everyone above is opposing the idea since it wont affect them
