Title: How long does withdrawing GBP from Intersango take?
Post by: J180 on February 14, 2013, 08:24:35 PM
It says "on business days" which implies one day... but I've waited 4 days so far.

I need to convert bitcoins to money somehow within about a week. Not sure what I can do.

They used to run Bitcoinica. If I were you I would get my deposit and get out

Pretty much. Intersango is on the list of things that haven't quite been trustworthy for some time, but weren't quite as obvious about it as GLBSE when things got out of hand.

After a five days customer support told me I was in a "queue" at place 15, without indicating how fast the queue was moving.

I decided to buy bitcoins on the exchange and transfer that out instead, which cost me about 120 dollars by itself due to the inflated prices, but fortunately the bitcoin withdrawal process is instant, so I was glad to take back control of the funds.

I don't know the story with Bitcoinia. Judging just from Intersango, I wouldn't call them scammers. But bank withdrawal is very slow and, unfortunately, suspiciously slow. I would not suggest using the site unless their system is fixed.
