Title: BTC-E still exist? Post by: maxcarjuzaa on February 14, 2013, 09:47:44 PM I was trying to connect to btc-e for an hour now, I am getting "The web page is not available"
Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: collaghost on February 14, 2013, 09:57:12 PM Hi. I guess you have been accidentally banned by their anti-ddos system. You may login using tor or any other anonymizer or wait 24 hours before your ip block will expire.

That is becouse your antivirus program is blocking changes :) Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: bushstar on February 15, 2013, 09:27:28 AM When I try to save the host file it says access denied.... You do not have permission to edit that file. Run Notepad as Administrator then open it as per the instruction below. http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/windows-7-hosts-file/ It may also be protected by anti-malware programs. Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: SRoulette on February 15, 2013, 09:37:12 AM Down for us as well, we were logged in just 2.5 hours ago with no issue.
Perhaps they are experiencing a DDoS like sealswithclubs experienced recently ?. Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: Zedster on February 15, 2013, 09:54:31 AM They and Coinotron have been under attack for over 12 hours I would say.
Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: crazy_rabbit on February 15, 2013, 10:24:48 AM They and Coinotron have been under attack for over 12 hours I would say. Doesn't seem fair that coinotron is caught up in this, even if they do have a pool. Having a pool doesn't really count as anything. Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: maunderingcabal on February 15, 2013, 10:24:55 AM which one of the files are you suppose to edit?
Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: collaghost on February 15, 2013, 11:33:17 AM which one of the files are you suppose to edit? Forget about trying to access by IP. Seems that now ddos goes to both IP and DNS addresses. I'm able to access btc-e once in a while though.Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? True, but they don't care :) It is sad that protection against ddos costs more than ordering an attack. :( Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: mufa23 on February 15, 2013, 07:49:43 PM Still down for me. What about you guys?
Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: crazy_rabbit on February 15, 2013, 07:55:40 PM Yeah, still down. It's really going on long now.

Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: creativex on February 15, 2013, 08:23:17 PM One tab open, host file modified, incognito used.
...cannot connect. If I cannot reliably access my account because they're in love with some new self promoted alt coin, then hello vircurex and bye-bye dummies. Hmm...those VCX shares are looking a lot more attractive suddenly. Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: sublime5447 on February 15, 2013, 08:26:07 PM Been working for me all morning. Working right now.
Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: creativex on February 15, 2013, 08:39:51 PM Been down for about an hour...still down. >:( Use your friend's internet connection or vpn or tor and try to connect afterwards. Connectivity issues are somehow related to anti-ddos protection, most likely they have your ip address blacklisted. Either wait 24 hours before they get it removed from stop-list or change your IP somehow. And do not open too much tabs when you trade, seems like this may trigger anti-ddos to block you again. You're absolutely correct. Had a friend log into my account from their connection and move my funds to my wallets. BTC-e can go fvck themselves until they become an exchange again and stop peddling their own homebrew altcoins. Thanks for your help. EDIT: Deleted posts...swell. ::) Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: RoadTrain on February 15, 2013, 08:44:48 PM One tab open, host file modified, incognito used. To be honest one should always avoid modifying hosts file and use it only as last resort. It's DNS' responsibility to update IP addresses. You can try to useCode: ipconfig /flushdns Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: creativex on February 15, 2013, 08:47:52 PM I realize this. The hostfile mod got me access to my own funds yesterday and was necessary.
Today they've changed their IP and remarking out the host file entry allows access. ::) Accounts emptied...done with them. Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? It's DNS' responsibility to update IP addresses. You can try to useCode: ipconfig /flushdns It depends on the TTL setting used in their setup but that would be the standard time to use, apparently they could not be bothered using the disaster recovery method... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_to_live#DNS_records Edit: That is if the expired of two days if I read this right don't override. Code: dig +nocmd btc-e.com +trace Title: Re: BTC-E still exist? Post by: mufa23 on February 15, 2013, 10:12:10 PM Just got to, and can load, the homepage. But if I try to login, I get this in Chrome

Yesterday, the whole site was down and I was just getting the cloudflare.
