Title: r7 370 4 gig vs 2 gig
Post by: MathiasPetit on April 18, 2016, 07:48:33 PM
hi
i am doubting to build my second mining rig.
for my first rig i bought 6x asus radeon r7 370 4gb
but to lower my cost i am doubting to buy 6x XFX Radeon R7 370 - Double Dissipation Edition - 2GB GDDR5. should i give it a go with those cards for eth or will it fail because of the 2gig ?

It is still working for 2 gb for now. I have both 2gb and 4gb and it's the same hasrate (MSI 370 gaming 2GB and 4GB)

Question is more, how long will it work  ???

If its like $10 difference then get the 4GB but if its like $30-40 more expensive just get the 2GB. ETH mining won't be profitable by the time DAG goes to 2GB.

it depend on your electricity, but do not sell your rig, profit is there with new altcoin, it will always be profitable, if you make enough profit you can try to add solar panel to your setup

they are good when the profit is so low that is equal or less than the consumption, in this case they can help you keep your profit per day

The DAG increase 600MB every year. 2GB is for 1.5 years as the DAG started from 1GB. So it should be in PoS status then.

You should buy the 4 Go cards, because because of the DAG size, you may not be able to mine with them after some time. Also, in case of the resell value, it will be higher.
