You know Crackle is just like Netflix. It won't be released in theaters just for download to watch to be ordered on your tv cable box.
It's not a real coin just fictitious for the purpose of the movie's story line.

It is not a movie but a series and it has different episodes, if I understand it correctly. The coin is definitely fictitious, but might end up as Alt coin, when this takes off. http://motherboard.vice.com/read/netflix-competitor-crackle-sony-banking-show-about-bitcoin-startup

Or is this a real coin? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=403897.0  ???

Someone probably noticed the coin on Crackle and wanted to capitalise on the opportunity

this movie is a fiction and a thing inside it is a fiction as well, but entertaining blockchain system through this way is quite good

I posted (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1444716) about the same thing. FYI, this is from a Netflix competitor, and their work seems promising. Big names are involved such as Adam Brody and Martin Freeman (https://variety.com/2016/tv/news/crackle-startup-adam-brody-martin-freeman-critical-content-relativity-1201689502/), also it's a series, not a movie. But I'm not 100% sue about the plot, so far I'd say that it's mostly centered around a company like structure other than p2p along with open source development.

Isn't that what many people outside our geeky universe think?
Just think about Karpeles --> "CEO of Bitcoin got arrested!" ::)

I'd say somebody mixed up GenCoin.io with CoinGen.io.

I think I would have been more exited if it was submitted to Netflix, because they have a bigger membership than Crackle, but if it is in any way connected to a scam coin, it might just be better if it is

submitted to a smaller platform. We do not need any more Scam coins in the Crypto Currency scene, because it hurts the reputation of all other coins in the scene and this includes Bitcoin. Can

someone get hold of the director and ask him or her to comment on this series?  ???

It's not a scam if it's free. Enjoy!

Want some "GENCOIN"? Get a Counterparty aware wallet at  http://counterparty.io/counterparty-wallets/ and generate a Counterparty aware Bitcoin address. Do not use a regular Bitcoin address.  The second way to obtain "GENCOIN" is through the Takara app at http://www.mandelduck.com, with chests hidden throughout the world, on an as yet to be determined schedule and randomized geolocation.

1) Generate a new address via one of the wallets above.
2) Fill it with a small amount of XCP and BTC
3) Send an email to admin@blockchaintoken.com to request some GENCOIN tokens or use the Takara app to geolocate a cache

Get your GENCOIN tokens and move them somewhere else, sell them on the Counterparty Distributed Exchange right in the wallet (they are free, so the buying/selling is a puzzling development), or give them to a neighbor kid to mow your lawn and tell him/her they'll  be a millionaire. Caveat, this is for entertainment purposes, don't sell a kidney. Additionally, the giveaway ends when it becomes unfeasible to continue. Enjoy, don't stress, have fun, and tell your friends, family, or people you wish to generally annoy.

Wow! Looks thrilling. I'll watch it when its out. In hopes of learning something about Bitcoin as well. I know there will be something in there... I think this kinda stuff will benefit the Bitcoin world overall. More people will come to know about digital currency and bitcoin and I'm sure it will bring up some interest in them to get into this world. Hopefully for the best though...
