Post by: nakam on April 21, 2016, 11:16:46 AM
hi guys,

im new at electrum and made a big mistake. i tried to encrypt my password with keepass and transfered my btc´s to my wallet but now i lost the the password (or something went wrong, because im sure that the pw is right..). so i searched in this forum and read some thread´s but no one can´t help me. i used the tutorial to recover the pw and entered my seed but nothing happened, i cant transfer my btc..

can somebody help me pls?

the steps:
1. restore wallet / wallet with 2 factor authentification
2. entered the seed
3. create new pw

and then?

nothing happened.

the message that i get, is: there is no transaction for the seed found

greetings.

Are you restoring the wallet with 2fa? Which version of Electrum are you using? There was a problem with restoring wallet with 2fa in the 2.6 and 2.6.1 version, try the latest version and it might work.

And what do you mean by this?

Did you had seed encrypted by keypass too? Are you entering the correct seed, the way you can check that is see, if the addresses listed in the wallet contains the one you sent the coins to.

yes, i tried to restore my wallet with 2fa. at first i had version 2.6.3 but i tried version 2.6.4. and tried again, but nothing happens too.
no, i dont encrypted my seed with keepass.

i meant, that i´ve searched for help and found a tutorial how to create a new password when someone lose his own password. (my english isnt good at all)

so i tried the tutorial but hothing happens. when i use my seed, then the only message that i get is, that "there is no seed for this transaction found". or if i use the btc adress where the money is, then i get the message that "you can only read".

i can open my wallet and i see the money, but i cant use it. everytime when i try to transfer or something like that, then i get the message "incorrect password".

edit: i used this tutorial https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1279836.0

Probably, there're two reasons[1],[2] that's causing this problem.
[1]-> Your electrum wallet isn't fully synced.
[2]-> You're making a typo while writing(typing) the seed.
P.S.-> Did you put a space between the words? e.g. "hello electrum seed".

You can ask in the german section if that helps -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=62.0

You used a 2fa wallet, that means you need two seeds to spend the funds. The tutorial you linked is for a single seed (no 2fa) wallet.
