They're only accepting bitcoin of course. Avalon was taking pre-orders yesterday for the next batch and apparently sold out fairly quickly. There were about 100 left when I looked. But I wouldn't deal with a company that only took preorders in BTC simply because that something priced at 1000 BTC might actually be purchaseable at 12,000 USD, but due to the transaction rate I would be forced to pay close to 27,000 for it. I think the last I read was they were trying to sell 500 in this batch. People acquiring bitcoin to purchase Avalons probably did little to the price. The fact that ASICs are putting a higher barrier to entry on mining might be part of what has been fueling this latest upswing. However $30k for the top machine is a form of monopolizing the hash's..........at least from the common man. Nevertheless, there should be room for new miners.
