Post by: runner100 on June 10, 2011, 12:54:16 PM
Hi all

My machine has been running very slow recently ,and my firewall popped up with this

"Dangerous web content"  bitcoinplus.com/asets.cts js miner.  JS.miner.js  firefox.exe(website was accessedfrom firefox.exe

Seems it some sort of java script ?

I have installed bitcoin ages ago,but dont run it often.

How can I remove this from starting up on its own ? Any ideas please guys.

Which antivirus scanner are you using?

It's a web-based CPU miner.  Horribly inefficient, and forces you to use extra electricity while you are visiting the site.  I am personally boycotting any sites that attempt to use my CPU without my consent, and I would suggest you do the same.

This has become a real problem now my cpu grinding to a halt.

Ive unistalled bit coin and have never visited bitcoin plus site.

Every so often my cpu will go to 100 percent max when idle

In response my anti virus is called "Avast" the new version

Cheers if you help me out guys

I've long disabled Javascript + Flash in my browser. You might try this too, it makes surfing a little bit unpleasant though sometimes.
