What is Bitcoin - a brief history

Does it have the characteristics of money? Is it able to fulfill the functions of money?

How popular is it? In which countries is it popular? Do people trust/have faith in it? What would be its trend of popularity?

Please provide some evidence for your answers, such as a link to the website the information came from. This is so I can verify validity of data, and explore more ideas discussed in the links that you send me.

Bitcoin can be considered money in many respects. It can easily be divided, it can be a store of wealth, it can be used for transactions, so in effect, I believe it can be classed as money. In real terms it will be classed as money if it's value goes up steadily over time, so we really need another 50-100 years to determine 100% if it can be classed as money. That is my own thought on this.

First of all welcome to BTC world, Bitcoin is the digital currency which gonna rule the world in future. Please check the videos in Youtube as Bitcoin documentary, check the rate with preev site and main forums are Btctalk and reddit where you can find the people who knows well about bitcoin and uses.

Go read the whitepaper if you haven't already, and look for some historical Bitcoin articles. Most of the hype starts around 2013, when the price hit $1.2k.

Aside from that, there have probably been a few timelines for Bitcoin published, and those would be good to look at to.

Yes bitcoin is like virtual money without any physical assets supporting it. Its more like digital gold, and can be traded in real life trading market in different pairs like btc-usd, btc-eur etc. Bitcoin is quite popular in europian and american community so there is lot more space for its expansion in adoption which is good point in view of elite trader. So if you are asking this to get into bitcoin, than i suggest you to buy some before it get pumped after upcoming halving.

Yes bitcoin is a new form of money. Bitcoin is online famous currency and the way of earning is easy , most of the qualities are here in bitcoin, in that reason people like it more than others currencies. you can use bitcoin, in investment, trading, and also gambling but it depend on you how can use it and get profit.

it has similar characteristic of money but it also lack of goverment support(military or none military way)
it has service provider like bank(E.G. Hong Kong ANX)

Bitcoin is a new form of money because we can use it as money . we can use it as real as money but money has a physical appearance the bitcoin dont have physical appearance.

Yeah it has no physical appearance but we can earn more from it just we want to wait for its price increase, it is anonymous decentralized and has unique features than other currencies which makes it the best currency in the crypto world.

Well, I heard about it long time ago and even heard information that all the bitcoin system is just one of version of some pyramid and it faild. But maybe a year ago my boyfriend get involved in all this and he pushed me to join. In the beggining i was very sceptical about it, but after he could withdraw his first 60$ that he made from zero - I began to believe. And now i'm here :)

hi, just wanna say my side about what you said, it isnt hard to say Bitcoins is money or not?
all member in this forum they believe that Bitcoin can give them a savings. which means Bitcoins has difference to a real money
due to there both useful as payment. ;) :D

Bitcoin for me is just like a piece of gold not a money thats why bitcoin turning into money because bitcoin has own price.. the same as gold..
I dont accept that bitcoin will be involve in government it will be corrupted.
