Title: [ANN] Yeti
Post by: relock on April 26, 2016, 07:22:45 AM
Yeti

My name is Don and I'm a student. I have chosen to launch a new Crypto as part of my class project. It will go by the name Yeti and will be a real fully functioning Crypto. I need your help, before I can submit my final pre-launch draft to my teacher. I have some ideas in mind but would like some feed back from you all. What would you like to see in this coin? what algo? (x11, Cryptonight..) what basecode? (BTC, cryptonote..) Please take this seriously, I'm a hard worker and plan to work hard on this.

oh could someone please repost my simple pre-launch logo, I'm new and it won't post. Thanx

I think you should make your coin a proof of stakes coin so many can participate,do you have a budget for this coin there are site that are ready to launch your coin for a minimum fee,or do you want to do it by yourself I'm sure you have the basic knowledge in crypto graphics and all this stuff,,

Yes I do have a working budget, I will save as much on development as I can. I can code this on my own no problem, sort of why I have picked this as a project. Yes I forgot to add PoS as a potential model, maybe a PoW/PoS hybrid proof protocol. It is true not everyone can mined, and I want as many people as possible to have access.

Not sure if serious....

You definitely need to have an ICO and make sure you mention dapps, IoT and VR as many times as you can in your road map.

No I don't need ICO funds.

support, long term. after launch, conditions at sea can change rapidly.

decentralized autonomous governance would be nice   8)

a long, or everlasting PoW

CPU only mining would be AWESOME

Thank you for posting the logo, could you maybe shrink it a little with this line below.

Code:

Yes CPU only would be ideal, I will have to research and see what I can find.

I would like to work with you,you can use our social site for distribution if you have a premine  we are looking for more sponsor to our social sites where we rewards people for their activities, you must post your roadmap and your coin algorithm I know this is just a school project but you since you are the one who is going to do the coding and will not rely on other people's money to fund it..I am open to this ..

Thank you very much for this offer, once we have things set I will get a roadmap together.

.. Dude the logo is terrible.

Why is there no iconography?

.. Unless you did put thought into the logo? .. In which I can dig the minimalism.

Yes simple was what looked the best in the end after I made a few of them.

Yep, CPU only coin! It will almost guarantee success and will provoke big interest.

i wish you success you really want to set up a coin where every body can easily get in and by setting it as cpu coin it's a great way to start for adoption but like I just posted you should make it as pos also this is a good option for people who only wants to stakes coins..

Would be interesting to see a cryptonote based with dagger hashimoto algorithm.

Fairly distributed POS coin. That is the easiest way to go!

I totally agree with you no expensive mining stuff to buy I think faucets is a good way to distribute this coin but the most important things is the roadmap of this project what is this for and what are the target industry ..

there was a coin a while back, faucet I think. It had a unusual distribution method where it distributed coins say 1000 per block or whatever split among active connections (running wallets) once distribution was complete it became pure pos great idea for distributing without mining hardware.

my preferred method would be cpu only pow followed by pure pos preferably a new algo or the one espers is using.
I'd avoid cryptonote style coins as they're a ball ache to use unless you're computer literate. Things may have changed since I last dipped my toe into them but that's my 2 cents worth.

Love it  8)

Is your project proceeding? It would be interesting to hear what your plans are.

Definitely some CPU algo will be more interesting + POS or "term deposit - interest" like HODL.
You can take a look here :

Hope it helps.

Well I will be getting a good enough grade this year, and this project may take more time then I thought. However I will be taking Level 2 next year, we only have one Technology teacher and he has told me, I can submit this project next year as long as its well done in his eyes. So I will take the summer to do my research and come up with my plan.

HODL looks like it's worth looking in to. I have followed DigitalNote for some time now but wasn't aware of HODL.

May as well make this a community coin. Take a small pre-mine and use it for bounties such as a block explorer, which you will need to get onto an exchange. If you make it PoW then you'll attract miners and have some value in the coin as opposed to a PoS coin where you would likely distribute it freely and it would be worthless without future development.

Algo is important, if you can come up with your own custom algo you can launch the coin as wallet mining only. Then allow the community to build miners, pools, etc. Using the pre-mine is another way to get this part done or speed it along.

For codebase I would definitely choose bitcoin since all the infrastructure to support it is in place. Cryptonote not so much.

Definitely some CPU algo will be more interesting + POS or "term deposit - interest" like HODL.

HODL is a nice coin but the algo is compromised. There is a private GPU miner mining most of the rewards so an algo change is required if you fork this coin. You know an alternative to making a new algo is using one that is readily available to buy hashrate for. Like scrypt, x11 or sha256.

The yeti image is a modified version of the image used by the arcticesports twitter account. If you are a student and use someone else's work without permission or saying where it's from you might get into trouble. If you use it you should ask arcticesports if they created it and if it's OK to use.
