Title: Deepbit down? More DDoS?
Post by: AngelusWebDesign on June 10, 2011, 01:21:34 PM
I wake up to discover that my miners can't connect to Deepbit -- and that the Deepbit website is down as well!

Seems to be up and running now.

A little bit ago I went to the website and it had my mhash/s very low, but everything looks normal now.

All good for me too :)

Seem to get the odd miner idle, but it's not having an adverse effect on my income :)

Well when I posted that, it had been down for several minutes, based on the miner output on my main machine.
Shortly after I posted, both website and miners were back up.

Several minutes required a new thread?! Wow... Pools do require regular maintenance you know.

I have a solution for you: find a pool that isn't getting DDoSed. Better yet, if you got multiple GPUs, diversify among several different pools  ;)

You may as well diversify using only 1 GPU. The loss of performance is less than 1% for two pools, but if those pools are under attack troubles you are safer.

You should do some research on how those pie charts work.

You should do some research on how those pie charts work.

.49% to 40% in 48 hours .. what research do you want me to do ...

There is more power going to "Other" be it solo mining or a non tracked pool ..

I came to no conclusions and ended with "Wtf", a question .
 :D

I'll give you a hint and you can choose to research more from there on your own, or not.

When slush's front end goes down, but mining still works (which happens quite often), his hash rate is represented on the pie chart as other.
