As you can see there are many theories about it....

The largest one I heard of other than the recent one was worth about $52,000 (if I remember) when it was sent. The guy was pretty upset, understandably.

Luckily, this time, the pool that mined it is seeking to return it: http://www.coindesk.com/accidental-136000-bitcoin-mining-pool/ (http://www.coindesk.com/accidental-136000-bitcoin-mining-pool/)

I just wondering what happen to the fees? Who benefit in these fees?

If the fee were not returned to the sender it'll be distributed to those lucky miners who mine the blocks containing this transaction
,and it'll be fairly distributed based on your mining power

It could happen again if users don't look careful what they are doing. Isn't a mistake of the pool, its a mistake of user that sent that big amount of bitcoins as a fee.

Who says this was a mistake? Could it be some rich guy, who wants to shake things up a little bit and who has done that on purpose? Or someone who wanted to give the biggest Bitcoin tip ever to the

miners. Who will know... Just before you think this is unlikely, read this http://www.therichest.com/rich-list/the-biggest/9-of-the-luckiest-tips-ever-received-by-waiters/?view=all ....People do crazy

things every day and there are huge Bitcoin whales out there, with big pockets.  ;D

I'll just quote what shorena said on the other thread. It could be someone who's just being happy fusing up inputs and at the same time, wants to somehow troll other people. It could be any of the three, really, but reason #3 is the most plausible of them seeing that no one has posted about inputting a wrong fee yet.

#1 human error (unlikely)
#2 some script messed up
#3 just a miner having fun fusing inputs

These fees are exactly helpful to miners who can make money with block mining. When sending the bitcoins you can code low fees also to transfer the bitcoin But Transaction time will take too much...

While it is helpful. And it is incentive for miners to keep their rigs running - I feel that free fee system is not right. It should be capped at some value.
There is no way we need to tip miners with more than 1 BTC ever. Possibly even less.

yeah that's right, the miners already got and have their reward when they done solving a block, tipping more than 1 BTC is just too much
if the tipper really want to waste his money, charity is a good thing, but i don't say tipping miners is wrong,it's good also
