Title: 0.8: How many times do I need to "reindex"? Post by: dree12 on February 20, 2013, 03:48:10 AM I had a full blockchain before the upgrade. After the upgrade, 0.8 reindexed the blockchain once. That's fine, I thought. Not much time later, the number of blocks remaining went up by ~8000 and the last ~8000 blocks needed to be reindexed again. And now, the number of blocks remaining went up by ~3000 and the last ~3000 blocks need to be reindexed one more time. How many reindicies should I expect? Is this normal behaviour?

Turns out redownloading the chain isn't that bad anymore. Title: Re: 0.8: How many times do I need to "reindex"? Post by: Digigami on February 20, 2013, 09:36:01 PM Yeah I had to download the whole chain again, but this time complete download and verification took aprox 2.5 hours on a VM. Last time I went through that ordeal it was well in excess of 24 hours. The client certainly has come a long way with this most recent update.
