Title: LTC NVC mining question Post by: Zedster on February 21, 2013, 11:35:59 AM Ok being the complete newb that I am to the whole mining thing something has me confused.
From what I understand right now, mining LTC and NVC should yield about the same amount of coins at the same hashing rate. But when I mine LTC I am making over 200x more than NVC. Same set up but different pools. I can't see how the pool can make that much difference. I have tried 2 NVC pools same result. That being the main basis behind the question. 40% difference of you, this still seems illogical. Title: Re: LTC NVC mining question Post by: bushstar on February 21, 2013, 12:20:36 PM The block reward for LTC is 50 and the block reward for NVC is 16 and going down slowly so they do not yield the same amount of coins.
Mining NVC with 40% of the coins than I would get with LTC and 506% more value I end up with 202% more BTC from mining NVC than with LTC. If you want to mine LTC then it is still best to mine NVC, dump for BTC and buy twice the amount of LTC that you could have mined.
