I searched for many terms like LOL, NSFW and I was able to find out. But the terms like OP or IMO or ATH kind of short forms are seeming very much specific to bitcointalk forum or simply forums.
I guess this topic will help new people if we share abbreviated words with full form.

Imo is in my opinion and ATH is all time high. As in bitcoin hit a new ATH when it went to $10000 . IMHO is in my humble opinion. Theres quite a few more i cant really think of them untill i see them though.

I've never really bothered to understand many of the abbreviations that veteran users use. Now that I saw this thread, only now I realized there are actually a lot of abbreviations used in this thread. I'll just have to bookmark this for future reference as I'm definite that it would take me some time to memorize all, if not most of the terms.

This is indeed a big hurdle for members coming new to this board. I learnt a lot by reading the thread which zerocharisma has posted. It explain everythink you need to follow discussions here.

Right, there is already a thread that you are looking for, a compilation of abbreviations being used here in forum. The topoc title is confusing... I thought this is the thread that have already the list.

LOL = Laugh Out Loud

Here are some more:

CMIIW= Correct me if I'm wrong
TS= Thread starter
HODL= Hold
FFS= For fuck sake
SMH= Shaking my head
BTW= By the way

Besides all the already mentioned sources the best one I usually use for basic forum abbreviations is http://slangit.com/terms/web_forums
It lists almost every abbreviation I have ever encountered on this and other discussion boards.

IMO = In my opinion
IMHO = In my humble opinion
AFAIK =as far as I know
NSFW = not safe for work

There are lots of common abbreviations that are used here. Just add other guys I forgot them.

GTFO is one of my favorites, usually posted in response to a scammy "cloud mining" scheme.
It means "Kindly remove yourself".

now i know the meaning of those letters.. i see them on every thread but i dont know what is there meaning,
everyday when i see those abbrevations it gives me a headache in thinking what it is.

sometimes peoples mentioned abbreviation here is far from it's meaning like WTG 'what the gox' it reffer to MtGox and so on,
it is too funny when i googled some abbrevations on google but i didn't find it,
peoples made their own abbrevations.

IMO is specific for BT? ... which forum you came from? :D
Honestly, this was one of the first expression I met with as a non-native speaker.
 
BTW I like WYSIWYG  ... It's not a commonly used but it is quite official.
Personally have never used it. I just had to find the meaning when saw it for first time and since then I remember it.
