Great share, thanks. The fact that he knew and sited good things about BTCitcoin, makes it a perfect solution to many, like he said "it's perfectly traceable, cash is not perfectly traceable" (that is something lawmakers should have in mind, with the way BTCitcoin works they could do one thing they want most, "to monitor everyone's activity"). Also it was good that he encouraged for law makers to not regulate it, even though it could be used for criminal activity since it's fairly new and needs to evolve and see how it will be. From the signs I've seen, many seem to have turn their attention to BTCitcoin recently and trying to actually understand it, perhaps this is the phase that will kick start it into it's significant adoption.

On a side note: The video was uploaded on 21st of April but for some reason the video is labeled 27th of April (an error maybe)

Antanas Guoga is a lithuanian politician.
He is known under his pseudonym Tony G as professional poker player.
Sure he likes Bitcoin. ;D

Old news but i hope it sticks. I mean presenting this to a room full of 400-500 powerful people, i`m sure a few of them considered it.

These politicians could adopt easily bitcoin because they all love campaign donations that are frictionless.

That's good video and suggestion of this member of the Europian Parliament, and i think he is Bitcoin's fan and supporter and having good knowledge about the Blockchain and Bitcoin's currency.

Tony G was a crafty poker player, from what I have seen he hits politics in the same manner. He adds a interesting dynamic to the Europe scene.

So let's assume that each member of the parliament gets about 1btc each and somehow people start adopting btc... does that mean the btc might sell for $500 this year, or am I just being too optimistic?

It's going to reach that price without members of the parliament buying anything . It will rise because of the halving block reward however ... them speaking about Bitcoin will make it more popular .

I did read this somewhere recently; I was a bit surprised. However, a single member is not enough to cause a wider effect.

So let's assume that each member of the parliament gets about 1btc each and somehow people start adopting btc... does that mean the btc might sell for $500 this year, or am I just being too optimistic?
Take your useless speculation to the appropriate section because:
1) All Parliament members will definitely not acquire Bitcoin just because 1 member suggested it.
2) The price in USD is irrelevant. 1 BTC will always be equal to 1 BTC.

It's good for a person with some authority to pave the way for bitcoin. Although cryptocurrencies aren't anything new for the European Commision: there are many, even recent, reports on the growth of decentralized crypto markets and the value of the Blockchain for future business.
This person just tried to explain it as simply as possible which is admirable.

I am sure someone has already invested lots of money before this gets discussed... maybe another pump and dump scheme?
