Where I can share files with many users without having to interface with each one. The chat feature is great for live events. Gotta use your imagination.

Without impacting your own internet service you can share with others nearby (neighbors?? people at a coffee shop, etc) . You do not need to know them. This has nothing to do with your internet IP so it adds a level of safety. You could manually configure that or wireless security but there are better projects then piratebox for that application. I am not sure what combo is best but it used to be done with but here is one place to look: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/USB_storage#Network_Option_C_-_Use_Samba_and_Windows_Network_Neighbourhood You could use the same hardware I sell most probably but it might not be the best match either. Piratebox is on the tplink units due to size and low power use, there also may be better choices there for a private home file server. Yes. Full read/write on the web page but not delete! The owner of the box can SSH in and delete stuff if needed.
