Title: DAO Discussion (potential investing points vs not)
Post by: manav1112 on May 03, 2016, 11:16:31 AM
Hi so just a discussion for sharing points on potential investment reasons and reasons to not.

So far I have seen:

It will take a long time for this to actually start

It has high potential but currently has risk

I put in 2 btc.  Not expecting returns any time soon.  It's a buy and deep freeze hodl.  I'll look at it again next year

I lost my interest after seeing they only accept ethereum don't know why not bitcoin to purchase. And just after getting late by lisk dev i also feel same feeling for this DAO. So i will just sit and see how things will go for investor without myself investing nothing in this. Good luck for all other investors.

They are only accepting Ether because that is what works for the smart contracts, and you need an Ethereum address in order manage your tokens and vote on proposals anyway.

I too am putting in a small amount as a long term investment and also simply to be a part of this new type of investment process.

This is a part of a Ethereum Smart Contract. This cannot be in Bitcoins!

Smart Coin here ;) ... SMC check it out ... we aim to know about all this Smart Contract stuff

advising short ETH, BTS, 2.0  ect.
unless you like high risk

there is lots of competition and no revenue streams (publicly produced)

NXT is the most advanced project but it is even unclear on the basics of its model

give it time, see which teams successfully emerge from these startup days.

expect loads to crash and burn ;)

Ok thanks for clearing my doubt, so basically they are just like sidechain of ethereum?
If so its better to invest in some clone of ethereum rather than side chain project. If some early clone of etherum can get movementum than we may really see them as litecoin for ethereum, alternative with some value.

Precisely the opposite of what you say. Because you're a total idiot.
