Title: Gift ideas?
Post by: PinkLlama on May 06, 2016, 08:48:53 PM
So since mothers day is coming up, I want to give my mother something related to Bitcoin. Now other than the obvious, give her some Bitcoin, I want some cool ideas that aren't that.

1) Go to https://spendabit.co/

2) Buy a live flower for her inside the pot, thats probably the best gift. Because flowers that are in boquet rot very fast.

Take a picture of yourself blowing a kiss then print it out.
Use a heavy piece of white card stock and paint or colour the entire page to appear as a bright blue sky.
Carefully cut out your image of you blowing a kiss and glue that to the card stock.
Using some wrapping paper with varying colours and designs (or tissue paper if you have the patience), cut out a few hearts of different sizes and glue them in front of your picture so it appears as though you are blowing the hearts from your hand(s) into the air. (if you want to be funny, throw in a few bitcoin symbols)
Find a nice verse to print out (or you can write it if you have neat writing and/or can do calligraphy) and glue that onto the card stock as well.
You could add some metallic sparkles or cut out some flowers to add to the picture too.
If you want it to be awesome, put it inside a picture frame.

edit: you should probably move this to "off topic" as it doesn't belong in "Bitcoin discussion"

Here's another idea.  My mom wouldn't like this I imagine... I already bought her something anyway.

that kind of cup is explicitly insulting his/her son and they will leave their parents and engage runaway for sure. be respectful to children, not all of them tolerates.

That a cool idea. You can even gift few bitcoins with the flowers to promote the bitcoins. Just make wallet for her and transfer some  of your money there.

I think some funky bitcoin related gifts would be nice, this way you can educate Mother on how to use bitcoins and also a nice red package with a bitcoin paper wallet would be cool too!!! I would love it if I received something like that from my Son.  :)

I advise to give Bitcoin, but as a real coin or a card. http://bitcoin-evolution.com/physical-bitcoins/
It is her interest, or perhaps make looking for information about Bitcoin. And she decides what time it like to cash it in at a convenient date with fiat currency.
By this, it is necessary to give some cute moneybox.

That's a good idea .but i think the best gift that we can make is to make our mother happy is giving her a big hug and a kiss . She doesn't need materials but if we can buy to make her suprised thats also a good thing to do .to make our mother very special.

I'm not sure most mothers would be thrilled to listen to their sons blurt out info about Bitcoin though  ;) Young techie type mothers might be the only exceptions here. I know for a fact that my own mother would be bored out of her mind after just a minute of listening to me talk about Bitcoin. If I had to suggest a Bitcoin gift, I would say just get a Bitcoin mug with a really cool design. Simple and actually useful ;)

If she is a bitcoin user, buy her a ledger wallet or a trezor wallet. It will be something she won't go without.

But if she isn't, buy her something with bitcoin or a sculpture or a cute painting or something

If you want a whole reliable website to find things that you can buy with BTC you should visit.

https://spendabit.co

There are a range of gifts and stuff that you can get for your mum. Although the present may be late, at least it is better than nothing.  :) :) :)

It says "My kids are the shit" which translates to "My kids are awesome".
Now if it was written, "My kids are shit" then it would certainly be insulting to the children.
My suggestion would be not to order the mug from somebody who scores lower than 100 on TOEFL.

What about the craft I recommended?  Are you too busy make a craft?  Is blowing heart-shaped kisses insulting?

I don't know your case but I am nos sure that Bitcoin related gift will introduce your mother to the bitcoin world as you probably would want.
While we can give you some general tips you are the one who knows your mother the best and in the end pick something for her.
I would suggest you would buy her a bullion for bitcoin - you can do it on: http://www.jmbullion.com/silver/ (http://www.jmbullion.com/silver/) and pick from Silver, Gold and Platinum coins.

Any idea which involves Giving bitcoins as a gift is a great one. And what could be better than you gift you mom a gift of bitcoins on this mothers Day.
This will not only make her happy but also it will let her know that the bitcoin is a new currency, a currency which her children and grand  children will use in future.

I actually love the mug, have been planning to buy a custom mug where I can put some beautiful words on it too, just like yours.
And I also agree, this topic should be moved somewhere.

And for the sake of sharing some idea, here is mine:

First of all, by "bitcoin related" you mean the final form of the thing should be related to (and in form of) bitcoin, right? Because if its not, and your meaning of bitcoin-related is very loose, just buy her anything with bitcoin. Flower, shoes, bag, car, house, island, country, planet, anything. And you'll get that bitcoin related gift.

But, if what you mean by bitcoin related is what I said the former, then the option would be quite narrow and mostly would have been mentioned here like debit card, or its alternate (which hadn't been mentioned) an already loaded bitcoin paper wallet.
My offering is, open her a gambling account with certain amount already loaded within, that way she'll have something to do. Or, if she didn't like to gamble, then a trading account.

There is nothing wrong with giving your mother something bitcoin-related for the sake of the publicity of bitcoins.
However, I'd rather you give her something that she will appreciate such as flowers or maybe a cake with her name, a thank you letter, a song, etc. Something with sentimental value. You can buy those with bitcoins too if you look at the proper places.

1. Alpaca socks
2. Shares in a legit bitcoin business (/bitcoin securities/ or Havelockinvestments.com)
3. Coupon good for one ransomware ransom payment
4. Bitcoin art (practical choice if you have a 3-yr.-old and some crayons)

What is number 3? I never heard about Ransomware Coupon, is this a joke? It sound so stupid that actually maybe you can buy something like this.

Try one of these with a gift card : http://www.marksandspencer.com/l/mothers-day/mothers-day-flowers-and-food-gifts/mothers-day-flowers and go to https://giftoff.com/digital-currencies

If you only starting to look for a Mother's Day gift now... you going to be a bit late my friend. I reckon you mother deserve a little more preparation than 1 day.  ::) ... I made sure that I bought her

something nice, three weeks ago already... Good luck with your search.  ;D ;D

It depends on what your mother needs and stuff. To buy something for your mother with Bitcoins is going to be pretty hard. I suggest you buy something with just real money to make it easier for your self.
