I'm currently mining Ethereum/Decred with an R9 295x2 using Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred Gpu Miner v3.2 Beta. I'm getting about 56 MH/s on average for Ethereum and 837 MH/s for Decred. All of this is on Windows 10. Does anyone know if switching to Linux would offer any significant increase in performance on my card? I've heard a lot of people say that mining works much better on Linux based operating systems, but is that just in terms of stability? Thanks.

I do not have any form of exprience with mining, but I am sure that your hashrate will not go much faster, it can be that linux is lighter and easier to run than windows so a higher percentage of your gpu can focus on mining which will get your more coins, I don't know if it is worth all the trouble that comes with it.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I use the computer for more than mining, so it'd be a bit of a hassle to decommission it for an increase as small as 2%. Unless anyone posts compelling evidence to suggest much higher (+5%-+10%) hashrates in this thread, I'll leave the setup as-is. Thanks for the input.  :)

How many altcoins do u get each day with your mining setup?
What are your electric costs(only the mining cost not the other usage) and what did ur setup costed u?

I make around 0.7 ETH (~$7 USD) and 0.5 DCR (~$0.75 USD) daily. Between the two, electricity costs $0.50 USD daily. Because I originally bought the card a year ago for gaming and only started mining with it until mid March, the $550 that I spent on it wasn't much of a factor for me because I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of it from video games. Profits are dropping quite rapidly as difficulty increases, though.
