Title: BitMex Question regarding the Seychelles
Post by: jryan54 on May 09, 2016, 01:13:11 AM
Hi Everyone!

I'm looking at doing some trading on the BitMex Derivatives platform and have a couple of questions about the Seychelles where they are incorporated.

Firstly, are they licensed in the Seychelles to broker/exchange Derivatives and Bitcoin? Or does the Seychelles FSA not regulate that activity?

Secondly, Does anyone know if the Seychelles government are actually looking at regulating bitcoin exchanges based there?

Just trying to get a handle on things before getting involved with them.

Cheers!

Last year the president of the country met with the founders of Bitmex. (http://www.statehouse.gov.sc/news.php?news_id=4233) So it's somehow understood that they not only know about these operations but also offer legal support for them to operate in the country.

The big question about the legal aspects of Bitmex is more related about the American users. (https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/01/15/bitcoin-exchange-bitmex-cuts-american-quebecois-users/) There is pressure for the company to completely block access to the platform by American citizens.

There are most dirty off shores banks on Seychelles
All kind of dirty scamers were using Seychelles  off shore banking
There is not any special regulations regarded crypto on Seychelles
But on Bitmex you bet on btc price without using any crypto
