Title: Personally I would say Elastic coin looks very suspect.
Post by: dannyman on May 11, 2016, 06:17:17 PM
I was quite interested in Elastic coin at one point but I think its staring to look really scammy.

I just posted on the thread a few minutes ago to simply ask why they had moved from an unmoderated to a moderated thread and that it looked suspicious. The OP looks like anyone could of thrown together. I also pointed out the HERO level of the developer looks really scammy as they haven't actually posted much and are mainly the usual few word responses you get when you assume someone is building a sock puppet account up to look legit....

I have zero proof apart from them removing my genuine concerns from he thread.....BUT personally I would tread carefully it looks and smells scammy to me honestly.

Your message was taken down by an automatic spam detection bot. Lately, there is no other way to maintain a civilized language in a thread. Unmoderated threads are full of people screaming "you are a scammer" with zero evidence. You set the perfect example.

Thanks for letting us know I really don't like a moderated announcement thread of any coins it's very suspicious they should let investors and would be investors  to give opinions about their project if it is really a good one then they can fend off any attacks ..

No, there were already a couple unmoderated threads. All people who began with a very constructive discussion about some tricky technical details of the coin found themselves arguing with a whole bunch of at most 15yr old spammish trollerinos shortly after. Most of the time wasn't spent working but was wasted on either scam accusations with no evidence, with people getting doxed and then blackmailed or threatened, with developers being offended in the ugliest manner possible, and with the same escrow discussion over and over again.

I understand that we have many different kinds of people in a melting pot here (ranging from the educated senior researcher to the 12 yr old trollerino),
but, to be honest, I would have been long gone if this crap had continued. I am programming for fun, for free, and in my spare time! Getting pissed off as a reward over and over again is not tolerable.
I cannot speak for everyone else over there, but I think they see it similarly.

Lannister is running the moderated thread, and I really appreciate that he clears it up in a way that we can have a civil discussion over there. If you find it "suspicious" then ... well ... not sure how I can help you.

Deliver what ???

EDIT: You claim you have asked for something about some coins but looking at your post history (i have checked it entirely) you haven't even posted a single message in the Elastic thread. I hope those of you who say a "moderated thread is suspicious" understand now, why a moderated thread is necessary  ;)

EDIT2: And again, I am arguing with trolls and wasting my time while I should be working.

Oh no, we've reached the singularity in 2016 ... rise of the sentient machines ... the scanners are taking over the world .... Arrgh!

lol Hero level account with much less than 480 activity.  That is very sketchy.

Deal with spam.  A moderated thread shows that you might be wanting to stifle criticism and that's not good.

wow, that's weird ... how can a dude with 103 posts be a HERO member? did Lannister delete +300 posts?

No, nobody has the time over there to waste it on discussions with trolls.
Like I said, there were already unmoderated threads and the people found themselves spending 80% of their valuable time on troublemakers.
Secretly, those trolls were laughing how much distraction they could cause.

If you find it "very sketchy" then just move on and leave this project far behind you!

Look, how much time is again spent on meta discussions.

Once for all:
This is a moderated thread over there where NOBODY(!!!) has the interest in an "open discussion" with trollerinos. This will just not happen! If you feel you are censored, open your own thread. But as you see from this thread, expect the quality of the contributions to be inferior (see the "Scanner").

Just don't invest in it, let it prove itself first.
Do this with all ICOs that don't have outstanding, extraordinary proof.

It seems like a scam maybe.
But I do like the UI screenshots that EK posts every now & then.
They're re-assuring.

Here's an example:

No arguments there.
I've already invested in it, so I have to be optimistic. ;)

Anyways, If it is Photoshop, then hats off to the designer.
Those are some flawless graphics.

Yeah right! You got it!

And when the coin is live, you are not really interacting with the wallet but there is a secret team in the background creating a false live video stream using Adobe Premiere that just let's you believe you were interacting with the wallet.

Now that you say it, I am also 100% convinced this is the way it works over there.  ;D  This is a hell of a scam, really!

Hey EK,

When would the testnet be live?

I don't give a damn how much you try to ridicule this, as a matter of fact Photoshop has been used extensively to scam here on Bitcointalk.

I totally believe you ;D This is a very conclusive argumentation! No escrow automatically means that:

- all screenshots have been faked using photoshop
- when source code is published then all source code must be a copy cat of some meaningless shitcoin
- when the coin is published and it proves to be individual (and not just a copycat) then it's still a scam because it was just created to pump and dump
- if the coin turns out NOT to be a pump and dump, then it clearly was a scam because it first willingly caused you to "see red flags", tricked you into believing it was a pump and dump and then took off without you lol.

Dude, I am so glad I didn't listen to people like you when Ethereum launched  ;D
