Title: Vircurex vs BTC-e
Post by: 420 on February 25, 2013, 09:34:40 PM
it cost less to get gox USD over to Vircurex than to btc-e (0.89% vs 1.49%)

so why aren't more people buying/selling btc for USD on Vircurex.com ? and definately now that btc-e is whacky and bitinstant halted the deposits AND vircurex has redeemable codes now

well they do it to BTC-e and BitStamp

you can arbitrage trade and just have your money diversified in case of hacks

Not to mention the purchase of LTC and alt-coins on these exchanges

i always liked vircurex for its appearance and diversity,
but i always wondered why not much is going on there.

The interface isn't nice. People can't see any graphs/charts and have to enter everything rather manually. With a nicer layout and interface, I'm sure it would take off.

I wrote a small app to monitor for arbitrage between BTC-e and Vircurex.  I can say that Vircurex's API is much nicer.

BTC-e added BitInstant funds today. Something to the tune of $100,000 I think they said.
