Title: Avalon ASIC Winning The Race Here's Why
Post by: crazyearner on February 25, 2013, 10:33:12 PM
After looking around on a few pools and hash rate increases over the last week their is around 136 units running give or take a few units.

I would love for the Avalon team to post in here and give some confirmation to how many units are confirmed as shipped and dispatched. With the current spikes and rize in rate it would seem more Avalon units hit or more gpu miners come back to BTC

I am looking forward to see what happens within the next few weeks for the first batch of units of 300 to be fully up and running and seems that BFL are falling rapidly behind. I wonder if they will ever get a unit out and start actually having units coming out making Avalon and BFL the only 2 places legit.

That's ASICMiner on BTCGuild.

That's a fair chunk of power. Would love to get into buying shares with them however awaiting my own units.

......

They have no time to answer emails, now what makes you think...........

They're winning the race because they shipped first, and also they're Chinese, just saying....

does not make me think at all other than Avalon are doing a fantastic job at actually getting the job done.

They suck at CS, but they're whooping the competition at getting units off the drawing board and onto the network.

I haven't heard of any in the wild aside from the 3 that have been known.

I have a batch 1 order, and still haven't heard anything.  February ends this week...

No-one can be declared "winner" until they can reliably deliver their units on time on an ongoing basis.  What we have right now is some very promising starts and achievements which are notable in themselves, but it would be foolish to try to predict now who'll falter as the year progresses.  A single, well-resourced new player could come along and blow everyone else out of the water at pretty much any time.

:)

Wait till Batch 1 Avalon users get theirs en mass and watch the panic ensure at BFL.

I strongly suspect the open refunds policy will soon end. Expect many unhappy customers stuck with BFL. Especially with that 28nm company soliciting system integrator.

Creazyearner, you are wrong.
It is ASICminer who is mining now near 4.5TH/s at BTC Guild (and growing), not Avalon units.

even still that's minus 40 units and i know ozcoin pool has a number of units on it too but a lot seem to not be saying much. but that hash rate is growing even with ASICminer increasing some of it proof is out their on pools if you look enough into them and speak to them on irc.

Many people have turned their GPU again after BTC rate grow.
The earnings are greater than they were in the middle of 2012.
