I discovered Bitcoin yesterday and chosed Electrum as my client, as it seemed to me much easier to understand for a beginner. What will I lose, in term of functionality compared to other clients like Bitcoin-Qt? Furthermore, I tried to get some Bitcoin cents via the free Bitcoin sites yesterday and after hitting like 8 websites of those (see https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade)), now I can only see two transactions in my history... Is it normal, is there a lag, or are the majority of those websites fake? Finally, I find it a bit confusing as I cannot relate a Bitcoin address with a name, unless I added a contact first... Just make sure you encrypt your wallet and remember and protect your seed.
There is no lag for Electrum itself, the sites you asked for Bitcoin though might never pay or have scheduled payouts. I like electrum because it effectively spoofs your IP address, for added security. |
