Title: Monetising a VPS Post by: dcrdev on May 14, 2016, 02:12:52 PM I have a subscription to a particular service that also grants me free credits to their cloud platform i.e. I can fire up a fairly powerful VPS at no extra cost. I have no practical use for that element of the subscription and was wondering if anyone could make any recommendations on how to monetise it?
I'm wondering if there are any up and coming altcoins which are still at the stage where it is profitable to do CPU based mining? Thanks in advance Title: Re: Monetising a VPS Post by: prabowo96 on May 14, 2016, 05:53:20 PM I have a subscription to a particular service that also grants me free credits to their cloud platform i.e. I can fire up a fairly powerful VPS at no extra cost. Title: Re: Monetising a VPS Post by: shield132 on May 14, 2016, 06:14:09 PM I think that mining with vps is waste of time. If you install hitleap, earn minutes and than make direct traffic on website, where ads are CPM based, you will earn more than you can with mining.

It was a fun time but was fast as so many threw up VPS's mining CPU coins. You will be able to mine a little cpu coins.... but it is going to be such a small amount most don't do it. Also what platform are you using? Some of the "bargain" vps like digital ocean tend to ban high CPU usage users (ie miners) as they truly want customers who pay for more then what they use. Title: Re: Monetising a VPS Post by: Bloxy on May 16, 2016, 04:25:14 AM You can host a game servers if the specifications are good enough. But you really just think outside the box with things like this. :)
Title: Re: Monetising a VPS Post by: shintosai on May 16, 2016, 04:32:16 AM if its possible to install wallet from your vps cbx is staking alt so you just need to invest some coins and stake it from your wallet then use your no need to mine because it is a staking coin so you can also earned minute coming from other sources like traffic exchange site and use it or sell it for a direct hint for another website.
Title: Re: Monetising a VPS Post by: Amph on May 16, 2016, 07:02:10 AM it appear that you would get banned if you attempt to use the cpu on a vps to mine, because since they are shared they would ban you for too much usage, with altcoin the usage would be 100% you know
so don't do it, also it's not really profitable, the diff for the only two alt minable with cpu and with a decent profit(hodl and esper) is too high already Title: Re: Monetising a VPS Post by: tyz on August 19, 2016, 07:36:59 PM Many new altcoin projects offer bounties to run a node. VPS is ideally to acquire such a bounty. Further you can join programs of established coins which offer so-called super nodes. I recently joined NEM supernode program. You can make some good money for running such a node for 24/7. However you mostly need some starting capital to buy the required amount of coins to be able to join the program.

Title: Re: Monetising a VPS Post by: veleten on August 22, 2016, 08:34:27 AM the best way to monetize a free VPS
is to run traffic exchange programmes and either sell the accounts (a decent Hitleap account with 100k+ minutes can get you 10-50$ each, for example) or use the visits to convert them into cash at some PTP sites or sell traffic in bulk for more info you would want to research yourself google PTP and TE etc. I could give some reflinks if you pm me here too p.s. 20 VPS running 24/7,provided their TOS allow TE usage, could bring you extra 100-200$ a month but do not expect to become a millionaire, obviously :) Title: Re: Monetising a VPS Post by: doflamingo on August 22, 2016, 08:48:00 AM Run TE is good way but the rate of TE is too cheap. If you have many you can sell them for profit :)

I have no practical use for that element of the subscription and was wondering if anyone could make any recommendations on how to monetise it? If you want to earn by using your VPS you can run a lot of traffic exchange and then sell the points or minutes you earn, there is the best traffic exchange site that you can run Hitleap, Otohits and Websyndic, you can also earn some money by purchasing rogue club in "rogue-labs.net" try and tested by me and it's worked if you have many VPS.I'm wondering if there are any up and coming altcoins which are still at the stage where it is profitable to do CPU based mining?
