Title: Vote for Your Favorite Wallet
Post by: aussie_striker on February 27, 2013, 12:07:31 PM
Ok there are several threads that are about what is the best wallet, most secure etc. Now all these threads are great and give good info but they still do not give a great indication of how many people use what. This post aims to solve that. I am going to post below a few categories and you can add your vote to each one. Add your vote to the vote column ### by adding one number ie ##1 and copying this post with your vote into a reply.
You can add more options if there is one not listed into a new row.
As more people vote the figures will increase so that the last post will always have the full votes.

I'm new to Bitcoin, but I like Electrum so far but I don't mind QT though. I've only tried Bitcoin-QT and Electrum. I don't have enough experience to cast a vote on security.

I just recently installed multibit as my first non standard wallet, Its a little confusing but its alright.
If Bitcoin-qt could sign/verify/en\decrypt GPG keys/messages than aswell as adding the ability to change the blockchain location into a config file rather than manually rerouting it, Then it would be the great!

B-But what happens if Blockchain.info is down.... Then you cant spend your moniez....(Have you established a secondary way to access your coins? an event like a natural disaster and blockchain's networking goes down)

I have been using Bitcoin-QT, but I want to try Multibit.  However, I am having issues getting it installed.  I have been spending the last 4 days trying to get Bitcoin-QT to synchronize!

Complete newbie happily using MultiBit. The install probs I had were about which version of Java was being auto selected by my mac - changed that and it ran smoothly

It is as safe as you make it safe, there are many ways how to make offline wallets, and especially just having encrypted USB stick connecting even rarery to system with even later internet connection and calling it offline and secure sucks

blockchain.info for daily use of small funds -- offline wallet for secure storage and savings.

+1

This is the best way I've found as well.  Blockchain is very secure, sends backups easily, double passwords, SMS auth tokens.

But unless you're buying a lot of stuff with btc, it should be all kept in a 'cold wallet' -- offline.

Why not just set up a poll thread for this?
