Title: Is there anyway to make my bitcore wallet update faster? Post by: FFrankie on May 16, 2016, 10:45:59 PM It keeps on having to reindex itself, and I deposited some coins into it and I cannot move them until its updated and its so annoying

if you can't afford to download the whole blockchain, use SPV clients like electrum instead. you can sweep or import your private keys so that you can spend your bitcoins right away without having to wait for core to fully sync. you can also try bootstraping, but I don't know any up to date and trusted bootstrap.dat source. Bootstrapping does not make syncing any faster as of 0.10.0. Syncing over the p2p network is faster. Additionally, OP's problem has nothing to do with syncing and rather having to continuously reindex.OP, what version of Bitcoin Core are you using? What OS? Having to reindex is usually indicative of hardware failure. I recommend that you run a diagnostic on your hard drive and see if there are any problems. |
