Title: Crypto Knights of the Bitcoin Halving
Post by: JohnnyBTCSeed on May 17, 2016, 07:50:54 PM
Disclaimer [This is a satire card set, I can neither confirm nor deny that any of the information contained here is or is not factual]

Welcome Bitcoiners,

The Bitcoin ecosystem was built by a great variety of individuals. This deck seeks to give props to those who have stood out. It is by no means complete and I'm sure some have been missed, so I apologize if some of you didn't initially make it.

This is a Bitcoin card set based on the VS System cards. This is an open source card deck, anyone can add to it. In fact I've never even played VS before, so I have no idea if the cards are balanced correctly. And most of the cards need to have powers added. So any and all suggestions for powers will be used. This was done using Magic Set Editor for anyone who wants to get creative and show me up :)

Individual card downloads coming soon

This was all inspired by this thread

I have one suggestion, make the description larger. Depending on the resolution and screen size at the time of reading, it is quite hard to decipher without zooming in. I see a lot of potential in this satire, i.e. you can make it for 'known/trusted' community members of the forum.
Oh, and my cat is disappointed that you've left it out.

I almost missed it but what's that two big balls that the tentacle alien (aka satoshi) is holding? testicles?  ;D
Good work, by the way. It must've took some effort to make all of that.

It's the flying spaghetti monster.  A classic case of a thing which is believed to exist although completely impossible to prove or identify.  Quite appropriate.

Aah, I see... Indeed that's appropriate. Giving him some nice effect would also be great though. Maybe something like being able to decrease the opponent's ATK and DEF (yeah I play a lot of card games.).

It is a religion too. The fanatics on the internet see it as a god. Like satoshi is too some that is why they picked that picture for him. Satoshi the deity.  :D

Great collection! I am glad you made two cards for Satoshi and Steven Wright each :D Probably, you have to merge them some time in the future.

Dude, this idea is so [tight] you should do a crowdsale for this set once it's complete.  I seriously think people would buy it.  I would.  Slap some people around and make it happen.  ;)

Is it intentional that some of the names and nicks are spelled incorrectly? If not, please correct mine, Branson and theymos at least ;)

Btw in addition to supernode operator, I am a game designer for 25 years standing and have designed a MtG-style expandable collectible card game in 2000 (not published except our University group) and am currently full time designer in MMO RPG Crypto Kingdom (link in sig).

As the project gets traction, it'd be cool to have the gaming side also functional even if the main point is that the set is collectible/cool as such. This is no volunteering for another project, but I may be able to give feedback/work on the design if desired.

If we're gonna get serious then you should add Marshall Long in there.  No joke.

---

Ghost in the Machine

If you get this card, advance to any level of your choice; connecting with any player on the way and having them do your bidding...while slapping everyone on the way.

---

For the record, Satoshi is not the Ghost in the Machine, he is the machine.

Just trust me on this one, I'm rarely wrong about these matters.  :)

The people have spoken and I think the people want to see a vlad2vlad card. What is your real world name again? Paul Vlad, or was that your brother?

That and I think I need to add an Anonymint aka Shelby

Others that should have honerable mention.
Goat. Anyone remember that guy?
Spoetnik of course
The Dashcoin Creator.
Bob Surplus.

Suggestions people?

Anonymint is a good one, the guy is a true genius.

Spoetnik for sure, he's relentless to flush out scammer and he's a good guy.

I would also suggest Cinnamon Carter, Marshall Long, Michael Terpin and  Deadsea33 (IXC wouldn't be around without him) I'm sure there are others as well.

For me you can use Paul or Roberto - but I'd wait a month or two.  There might be a twist worth waiting for.  Thx!

Cheers!

Samson Mow is a must have, few have had his influence and impact on Bitcoin and Crypto.

Not to mention some of his finer qualities:  Quick wit, got much jokes, spittin' rap lyrics like an OG and I'm pretty sure he's a Sun Tzu PhD to boot.  lol.

Im a little bit dissapointed.
We had so many funny prediction's,but all of them went not true,
I wanted bitcoin to go high after halving, but it just didn't happen,it was staying at the same price for a long long time.

I hear ya but look on the bright side; one prediction was Bitcoin collapsing in price and dying due to the civil war and not being able to scale.  I think the price will start to move up later this summer and once COIN gets approved, well, that's when Bitcoin should skyrocket over $10,000.

Too bad the OP of this thread never followed through with the manufacture of these... they might have been worth good money right now. He initially started the idea (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654861.0) in June 2014... This was right before the start of Rare Pepes on Counterparty, which is pretty much the most iconic bitcoin art collection. Just wanted to bookmark this thread with a comment for future revisiting.
